Went for Mothering Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend anyone to go there for a meal. Could not fault it.Service impeccable. Food amazing.

Near Shirenewton but on the main road. Good access . Plenty of parking . Old fashioned pub . But the food is home cooked and tastes delicious . Managed a pudding that was lovely . Well worth a visit. Did not take advantage of the rooms there but the restaurant was clean and tidy , with good old fashioned welcome by the landlady .Walkability: Out in the countryside with bags of fresh air ideal for push bike or motorcycle ?? groups .

The Curre and Llangibby Hunt were meeting here before going off to frighten and then tear apart the local wild life. The whole area was blighted by this event.

Have been having Sunday Lunch takeaways for several years and they are always great value and extremely generous portions. We even had Christmas Day Lunch, which, again was superb.

Booked for an 80th birthday Sunday Lunch seating 13 adults and 1 child. Usual choices of roast meat plus 2 vegetarian options. Meat and yorkshire pudding came already plated which is fine. Then the vegetables arrived...and kept coming. 10 different choices of vegetables appeared and if we wanted more of them we just had to ask. Plenty of gravy boats too. We didn't have starters and we would not have been able to eat dessert as there was so much of the main to fill us up! Food tasted lovely and only £15.00 for 1 course. We will be back!

We went to a Christmas party. The hot buffet was lovely, very nice food! I'm wheat and gluten and intolerant, but there was plenty that I could eat. The barmaid put out all the food, it would've been nice to see a smile and she seemed a bit put out when a few asked for a coffee with the mince pies lol!

Had a takeaway Sunday lunch during lockdown (they still do this), rang on the off chance they were now taking bookings for the lounge. A very pleasant lady welcomed us. Reasonable drinks prices bottle of wine for £15, housewine £12. Varied choice of starters/mains and desserts priced £5 starter, £15 mains, £5 dessert. 2 of us had starters,pate and halloumi sticks, well presented good sized portions and very tasty. For mains 3 of us had beef and 1 pork, melt in the mouth, piping hot and they do not stint on the portions! Accompanied by dishes of boiled and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, peas, mashed swede, 2 boats of delicious gravy and everyone gets the stuffing, sausages and most importantly yorkshire pud. Dessert; Oreo cheesecake and raspberry roulade again beautifully presented. It's safe to say we were stuffed! The best compliment I can give is that it was as good as my own home cooked Sunday lunch (only bigger portions!) Thanks go to the girls serving, they were quick, efficient and able to make conversation at the same time. The place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we did not feel we had to rush to leave after our meal. Could not fault our experience so a big thank you to all the staff of the Huntsman, you made it a memorable anniversary meal. All the tables were full but the landlady advised that not many seem to know they are doing meals in the lounge again. If you read this and are in the area, book, you'll be in for a treat.

LUCY is an amazing chef!! We have had the fish tonight and it?s bloody packed, Rob just told us she is own her own tonight?. Just WOW. Food is 5 star ??. Thank you for amazing food and the atmosphere here is always lovely

Called in after a a walk in Wentwood Forest. Warm welcome. & Good service. Had drinks in the beer garden. Amazing new addition of the garden shed bar since my last visit. Will definitely be back.Dogs were welcome.
