Nice pub with low ceilings....food a bit hit or miss depending on the chef working

The most shocking thing ive ever had. Me and my girlfriend visited and ordered food initatly lovely however upon eating the food after pouring vinegar on my chips and pie we had noticed tiny flies all over the food . These flies wouldnt be seen by people with poor sight. The flies was everywhere on the food and god knows how many we had eaten. I later found the source of the flies was the vinegar bottle upon inspection of the bottle i found a colony of flies in the bottle. Clearly this is a lack of hygine and regular checking of the bottles. We had alerted staff and to my suprise they had give no refund instead they offered us more food. Which obviously we would not want. I would not recommend. STAT CLEAR

Called in on Friday nite for food because there was a 45mins wait at the chippy, ordered two chicken masala with chips ,absolutely disgusting, boil in the bag curry chips were like matchstick and nan cut up into little pieces looked like it had been stamped all over , and for the overpriced food that was made by the very untidy chef in kitchen that could be seen through the serving hatch I think it needs a new chef and a new revamp , never go there again .

Pleasant staff decent drinks however we went out onto the top balcony and sat down and then realised we were surrounded by dog poo so we left and went down to the lower decking sat down at the bench by more dog poo so then we just left ! Not a pleasant experience , feel sorry for the staff as it is dirty dog owners

Disappointed a little lots tables with glasses left on them and not as good as welcoming as previous visits. Hope it just teething problems

Too busy to have food Sunday, tried again Monday to find no food is served. Tried again today and 3 quarters of the sparse menu was not available, had yet again to find an alternative

What a find. Popped in Thurs lunch time for a refreshing pint or two. Very friendly welcome from Dave who was extremely helpful (I'm on crutches so have no spare hands).
The interior of the pub was very clean and tidy and there are several options for seating outside.
Unfortunately we had already had lunch so were not hungry but based on the exceptional quality of the Wainrights Gold I would have definitely been interested in the food offerings. The Wainrights was cool, clear, golden and extremely tasty. Without doubt the best I've had in a long while.

We attempted to have a meal here in April, not the best service, menu was written on a piece of scrap paper, anyway we ordered fish and chips which came out uncooked, then was offered steak but then the cook changed their minds, so we asked for our money back, not great at all but the barman was a friendly chap, need to sort themselves out a bit really
