Abject rudeness from a member of support staff. Only a small interaction but it caused upset to me and made me decide to use another optician. Visited today to make an appointment, the first words of the individual on floorwalking/meet and greet, before I had even spoken, were, "yes there is a lock on the door as it says" and pointed to the lock on the door. I had not said a word or indicated in any way that I minded the door being locked until it was opened by staff. Consequently went to an optometrist where staff understand politeness and customer service

First time visiting this opticians and from my first phone conversation to the end of my appointment the staff were superb. Friendly, welcoming and attentive. I will be returning.

I have been using Paul Harries Opticians for several years after being a regular at a big high Street chain.From the beginning I was struck by the depth of knowledge, skill, care and attention shown to their customers to enable the best possible outcome for our needs. I have also enjoyed the huge range of frames available, the helpful Eye Care Plan and - best of all - my colourimetry glasses! As someone who is dyslexic I find these to be invaluable! I appreciate the care that Paul takes over getting them just right so that I can read and write with confidence and with much greater comfort and accuracy.The cherry on this lovely cake are the staff: each one is welcoming, kind and good fun. Who knew that getting new specs would involve so much laughter?

Two of my children have colour optometry for their dyslexia with Paul. Service is first class from start to finish and the difference in their reading is marked. Both of them have gained a lot of confidence through having coloured glasses and their teachers can tell when they aren't wearing them. Fantastic to find this service in Carmarthen

Exceptional Independent Optician - Very Highly Recommend.Absolutely spec-tacular service from this opticians. Optician Paul is exceptionally warm, accommodating and thorough. I went here to be assessed for new colorimetry/cerium lenses due to having Meares-Irlen Syndrome and wishing to try this alternate method of tinting. Paul was very thorough in checking my prescription as well as talking me through the process then of the colorimetry assessment, and made sure that everything was spot on for me as someone whose Irlens presents as extreme light sensitivity.Margaret, the manager, was so helpful when I booked my initial appointment, both by phone and email. One of the most friendly and approachable people I have know. Margaret has been incredibly patient with me and my thousands of questions.I travel all the way from Pontypridd to Carmarthen to get my eyes and tints tested, which is about an hours drive. It is worth every minute of travel when you are greeted and treated with this superb level of customer service. I will be going to them every time from now on.They also have a great range of fabulous frames, which suit me down to the ground as well as the more conventional frames. I have recently picked up the Betsey Johnson glasses in the picture, which I am over the moon about.

When my daughter went to Paul Harries for help, he just went with the hospitals prescription without question even though it differed widely from his. Hospitals don't always get it right.There should never be a situation where a young girl goes into an optician for help, pays hundreds of pounds for glasses and finds that her vision is actually worse.Professional accountability and ethical responsibility should come first not "it was the hospital not me". It may be the service you provide Paul Harries, but not one I expect.

As a customer of Paul Harries for the last 4 years I have always had the best care from all members of staff at the practice. I would highly recommend this practice as they go the extra mile to ensure that the best treatment possible is provided, be it spectacles, contact lenses or ortho k.
