Have no issue with the particular branch. However my experience with HSBC as a bank has been nothing short of appalling. Had my phone stolen and money taken from my account 3 months ago. Have complained about the security breach with the banking on my phone but HSBC do not accept liability for that. Was told to write a letter expressing complaints and did so almost 4 months ago but am still without reply (should have been issued a response in 8 weeks). I have been into the branch multiple times and was told 2 weeks ago by a member that they would push for a response and keep me informed in the coming days. It has been 2 weeks since then and still haven?t heard anything. I also bank with nationwide whom by comparison have been a pleasure to bank with. I have had regular contact with them and as I had money taken from that account also they accepted liability and refunded it. The same cannot be said with HSBC as I have clearly been ignored and have been told repeatedly that I cannot communicate with anyone about what has happened it must all go through letter, but what use is that if they don?t respond? I wish I could give zero stars.

Absolutely horrendous of a service, I don't live in Carmarthen and had to travel by public transport.. and they rejected my application 3 times! They couldn't even get my application right.I've asked over the phone what requirements to upgrade an account and they told me I'm good to go with what I have!Only to be rejected 3 times by the branch. Waste of time and money!They couldn't even give you a thorough advice as the lot of them are incompetent. No form of communication via email and whatnotDisgraceful of a branch and all of the staffs should be ashamed.

It's a joke. You phone for an appointment, they never answer, they keep you on hold, the recording says to book the appointment online but you can't, it's not possible.

Attended HSBC at Carmarthen. Mr Dave Paton,customer service advisor, was exceptional in dealing with a personal and sensitive matter.He was very professional and his advice was great. Was impressed by his customer focus and he helped to resolve the issue. He should be praised for his work.

Banking hall dimly lit, lady cashier abrupt and unhelpful Much nicer staff at the Tumble and Pontarddulais Branches which are now sadly closed Someone was desk surfing with a laptop a poor lack of security

no organization during covid 19 I wanted to put money into the machine which is inside and there is a queue for other matters so there should be two queues those who want to deposit money and those who have other matters to do. Very unpleasant employee of the bank who stands in front of the bank and manages everything

My niece, an international student starting in Uni went to this branch to open an account, but the attitude of the male staff has been negative from the start. Instead of trying to get ?our business? he was giving many excuses not to help us, which contradicts HSBC?s TV advert showing them as people who know culture to do business. Having been a student myself once, I know that this is not how a bank should treat potential customers. It?s OK!! We decided to go to other banks but my word to other international students new to Carmarthen and needing to open a bank account, think hard before going to this HSBC branch. I think the CEO of HSBC should read this.

Not the most attractive externally it's standard corporate interior is fine, if a little stark. Staff are professional and helpful but thin on the ground.
