Hi there have visited this restaurant many times always great food and friendly staff we arrived in May but the restaurant was closed just wondering if it will be open next month as we are traveling over to Wales in August 2025

At first, my stay was very good. However, as time went on, many things felt poor. Our living room stank of cigarettes, there was mold on the rug, brown stains on the beanbags and even bloodstains on the obviously not washed sheets. To top it off, the hot tub was stuck at 25 degrees, and there was smashed glass on the floor. The decking, when covered in ice, were lethal, and I would suggest adding heated or grippy decking. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Dropped in for breakfast on the way to West Wales, food was generally very good, could perhaps have a better sausage. Portions were very generous for the money.

We stayed one night for a local event after travelling nearly 5 hours and attempted one evening meal with 2 adults and a 2yr old.
The only redeeming qualities were the lovely staff and the convenient set up of the rooms.
Firstly, we arrived and checked in to our room which absolutely stank, we had all possible windows open all night as the sewage smell in the bathroom was overwhelming and the room itself smelt very musty - the entire little suite was dated and in desperate need of a proper clean and the bathroom honestly was disgusting. We were only here for one night and spent most of the time outside of the room so left it at that, as there was no one around at all when we needed to check out we couldn't raise this with anyone.
The bedding was clean but the mattresses were both exceptionally uneven and lumpy, one actually had a massive dip and solid ridge.
There was a significant amount of dander and dust around the skirting boards and windows, multiple large stains across the floor, and the bathroom had an excessive amount of marks and mould around the shower. Every room had spiders in the corner, with visible dust on the webs - the extractor above the shower had thick dust hanging from it. Generally, it was absolutely not worth £95 for the night at all and we would absolutely not recommend staying here.
The meal looked really hopeful from other reviews and we had chicken chunks, chips and one pizza. Unfortunately, for the first time in my life I had to send the chicken and chips back - the chicken was like rubber on the inside of the batter and the chips were actually raw in the middle and tasted like fish, we have no allergies but after a few chips before we realised something was off our 2 year old came up in a red rash around her mouth. The pizza was on what seemed to be a thick frozen base, leaking grease and very watery with minimal toppings. It was such a shame as the staff were so lovely, but if this establishment spent half as much on cleaners or renovations as they have done on their impressive broadband set up then it would have been no doubt lovely.
we travel a lot for events throughout the year and enjoy finding little hidden gems but this is definitely not one of them!

Table was sticky only gave one menu for our table I had steak that was chewy I had salad and chips but the chips were put on top of the lettus so that went limp the chips seemed to be the end of the packet my husband had garlic potatoes but was smothered in cheese making it quite sickly

Called in by chance on way to ferry what a find! Lovely friendly smiling welcome, and fabulous dinner. Best fish and chips, crispiest batter and succulent meaty fish. Very generous portions, sadly too generous to enable a sample of the yummy sounding ginger cake. Oh and he devoured the ribs too. ?

Stayed here on Saturday night with my husband and our toddler. We moved rooms a few times. Room 5 had ants nesting in the bathroom and the tiles around the bottom of the shower didn?t look great (see photos). Room 7 smelled of smoke. Room 10 was great! Cannot fault the staff. They were lovely and very apologetic. Complimentary bottled water and hot drinks on offer in the rooms were very much appreciated.
The small pool was very warm - perfect for our toddler. Couldn?t work out how to switch the sauna on but it looked very inviting. Showers and changing areas for the pool were great.
We had dinner in the restaurant. It was good, standard pub grub. Again, the staff were fabulous. The petrol station next door currently has 20% off vouchers for the restaurant valid until 30 June 2024 at the counter.
Rooms: The rooms are very quiet despite being on a main road. As others have mentioned they could do with updating but are spacious and generally clean. Very good value if you?re bringing your family or sharing with others. It?s very convenient being able to park right outside your room.
Noteworthy details: A great place to stop overnight if you?re heading west. Small swimming pool great for children.
