“If you don’t have time to read a long review, the headlines are ‘amazing place, lovely staff willing to go over and beyond what is expected, please visit if you want to take good care of your eyes’.The longer version:I cannot rate my experience here highly enough. Brought in my nearly 95-year-old mother who has already lost the sight in one eye due to macular degeneration and has glaucoma also. She is understandably concerned about preserving the sight that she has (and with it her independence). In August she had noticed some changes and, although her usual high street provider could not see her, she was fitted in immediately here and treated extremely well. I felt reassured and confident that Dr Adrian Jones knew what he was doing and made sure that she was given the appropriate drops for her glaucoma and a referral was made to hospital. She was seen there promptly too.Follow up was also extremely good and my mother was patiently helped to choose new glasses. Adrian went out of his way, in a manner that I could not imagine anyone doing, to ensure she is able to receive her new glasses as she lives alone and has no transport into town. He also will be arranging for someone to come and see if my mother can be given any aides to help improve her vision at home where she struggles to see in dimmer light. Adrian and his lovely assistant Sandra were both so helpful and patient with my mother from start to finish.As a massive bonus, Adrian helped me resolve a problem with a contact lens. I had had a shard of contact lens stuck in my eye for over two weeks and it was causing me a lot of discomfort. An optician local to me had not been able to find it and sent me off to A&E at a leading eye hospital close to where I live where, after digging around in my eye for ten minutes, I was told I was imagining it and it was an eyelash. Feeling somewhat gaslit and knowing it was there and with it driving me half mad for another week, I asked Adrian for advice and, despite being busy, he offered to have a look and removed the thing in under 2 minutes. I cannot thank him enough for that as I was starting to despair of ever getting it out!So, a longer than usual review but worth every minute of time. I am so grateful for the help given and thoroughly recommend this practice to anyone who values their eyesight. It is a good lesson to look beyond the chain stores – not that they are bad - but just so easy to default to the highly visible (no pun intended). I would never have known this place was here as it is tucked off the main street but it is most definitely a hidden gem.”

“Exemplary service! If I could give any more stars I would! ??????What a lovely experience. Being someone that hasn’t had an eye test for over 7 years the thought of going was a little daunting. The lovely ladies were so welcoming and instantly put me at ease.There was next to no waiting for my appointment, I must’ve been sat for less than a minute before my test. Such a brilliant team working in there. The optician explained everything perfectly.When it came to choosing glasses the lovely young lady out front (I am terrible with names - I do apologise) could not do enough to help! Absolutely wonderful, she was very kind and patient.. I can be indecisive at the best of times. She took the time to stay with me and help me pick out the perfect pair of glasses.I highly recommend using this branch!I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, could not fault it!”

“Won't have an eye test there ever again, but I took my own prescription in, and bought two pairs of tinted varifocal glasses there, served by Meryl, who was excellent, very knowledgeable, really knew her stuff, and I would absolutely recommend you ask for her when you require new glasses.”
