Had to queue for more than 20 mins for the carvery (even though we only went up when told to by waiting staff). Food was mostly luke warm. Gravy was cold. Beef was very gristly and fatty. Apple pie for dessert was quite nice. Don't think we'd visit a Toby Carvery again. (This wasn't the first time we've eaten at one.)

Tue the 4-3-2025 went for the Carvery at Whitchurch tonight I was server by Grace at the bar and till and Harvey and Mike as my carvery chefs for tonight the food was great but only one item seen dry over the last few weeks so I stop having until it get better is the stuffing I go once a week to this brunch this give better size of the meat Cardiff gate brunch is like we all call it we for thin slices like a ninja has been at it hope this happy you review

Really nice carvery and selection of food. Staff really nice and helpful. They even asked if we had the Toby app as the carvery was discounted at only £6. Will definitely be back soon.

Nothing was great. Food was ok I guess. However, it was the staff that was an issue. Customer service was appalling - we asked politely for a table to be cleaned and the member of staff turned around and said ?I?ve only got 2 hands? with a sarcastic voice. Food might be ok but with poor management and customer service, it ruins the experience

Absolutely appalling visit on 5th October and it wasn?t even busy at 4pm! Ordered a Yorkshire wrap, waiter said it would be 5 minute wait. 20 minutes later the waiter came back saying they had a load of takeout orders come through so there would be some delay, they prioritised them over me as 45 minutes total wait it still had not come out and advised it could be another 15 minutes when I asked where my food was. Decided to leave. A waitress bless her was so apologetic but my waiter was like OK with no eye contact. Will be going to the Cardiff gate one in the future. Not a way to treat customers.

The Toby jug is a great incarnation of what it is :) I pushed the jug out with a prawn cocktail, which was every bit the 90s classic that I hoped. It had a good amount of prawns, well proportioned to salad and sauce, and came with obligatory bread and butter. The carvery is generous. Well stocked selection of all you can eat veggies. I finished up with a caramel Sunday. Following my learning in France I bought a vodka on the side and added it in the glass when there was space - making an adult Sunday. If I?m honest, it was far too much food for and felt a bit sick. However, I can?t blame the place for my gluttony. Warm, and efficient staff. I?m kern to go back when the desire arises
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian roast, with veggie gravy, plus other options.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs available. Bustling atmosphere and lots of space so any antics can be absorbed by the environment.

Went in as a single person to be told there was no room but I could sit in the bar which was fine by me until I went to collect my food and seen the main dining area with plenty of spare tables(more than taken) this angered me, spoke to an employee and she advised I was told that because there was only 1 server. I just see it as i was lied to and didn?t appreciate it. I?ve visited this particular Toby many times but this time I was appalled when the carver put 2 minuscule slithers of meat on my plate( no exaggeration) I did address it immediately with him and explained I?ve been very often and this wasn?t the same portion that I?ve EVER had. Overall really disappointed in the attitude of individuals on this particular visit ????

Grace & Abby were very attentive and ensured we had everything we wanted. They were
efficient and friendly. The food was excellent. The carver carved expertly, with generous portions.

Always a great breakfast and lunch at The Toby Whitchurch. The food is always tasty and hot. The staff are incredible , polite , friendly and efficient ? even when some customers have been rude to them.
We are a veterans group that meet every Saturday for breakfast and a brew. The team look after us all. We also have our Christmas party in the function room . The attention to detail is wonderful and we always have the best evening. Recommend hosting
A party at the Toby to anyone. Nothing is too much for them.
We are looking forward to many more breakfats and events . Looking forward to our Christmas party again this year xx
