Having been a avid user of the toby carvery all around the uk may I say that the Cardiff Gate establishment is by far the worst carvery I have had the misfortune of eating. NO MASH, NO STUFFING, NO ROASTERS and NO GRAVY. after waiting 10mins for them to finally arrive my meat was freezing cold the stuffing was cut up in breeze block sizes, the mash was all lumpy and dry ( absolutely dreadful ) the turkey was ok but the beef un eatable all in all a terrible experience which I won't be repeating again.

my friend and myself came to toby carvery to enjoy a nice meal together, and I wish I never stepped foot in the door, it was hectic and you could see it was overrun and not enough staff. we ordered a cavery and a coke. I am disgusted that they only charge you for refillables, as an 80 year-old woman I can not have more that 1 glass of coke so there should be an option for just single cokes in toby carvery. we went to get the carvery, and that was stone cold. even the fresh parsnips and potatoes were cold! we told the lady serving and she went and got us fresh food, which when she brought it back it was yet again stone cold, the Yorkshire puddings were like ice! after yet again telling the lady, she went and bought us a fresh jealous which we had to leave as thay was cold, she then told us to come back in the week as it is quieter and it's to busy on the weekend especially a Sunday and thay other people have also complained about the food today! if you can't handle the amount of people on a weekend then you shouldn't open! we still had to pay full price for the absolute disaster! I am so disappointed and I will now not return unless things drastically change.

Took my mum for a meal for her 70th birthday. Our waitress was Bron. Bron was exceptionally attentive and polite. My mum couldn?t eat the whole meal so Bron supplied us with a container so my mum can enjoy the meal at home. Great experience.

Was a little disappointed that I got a small Yorkshire but I'll let it go haha!
The food was absolutely fantastic as expected. Nothing was dry and the beef and pork were to die for. Becky was lovley to us and made us feel very welcome. Are origonal server was was amazing also but we didn't get a name.

Tonight we ate here and it was very busy, the manager seemed stressed with her staff, Jack coped really well.Top service from him start to finish. There was a issue with the kitchen not having gammon for our wraps and Jack sorted this straight away he couldn't have been more helpful, will definitely be coming back because of this. Young employees need to be treated better as we are all humans trying to excell.
