Food cooked to order. Good range of food. Excellent service. Can be quite noisy, so ask for a quieter table if this is an issue. Limited choice on our Monday night return but still good food.

Disappointing Experience ? Lacking Basic Standards
Our recent visit to this restaurant was, unfortunately, a disappointing one. Upon arrival, we were barely acknowledged at the door, and it quickly became apparent that there was a lack of communication and coordination among the staff. The only meaningful interaction we received was at the counter while placing our food order.
There were no child seats available, which was both surprising and disappointing for a restaurant that presumably caters to a wide range of guests.
As a parent I find this incredibly rude, though children are not good enough to be in such a place!
This lack of consideration for families speaks volumes. My 4-year-old displayed better manners than some of the staff members we encountered.
The restaurant itself is far from refined-it feels extremely outdated and poorly maintained. Flies were everywhere throughout the dining area, which made the overall experience quite unpleasant and unhygienic.
Staff were unhelpful and generally disengaged, lacking the basic courtesy and professionalism you would expect in a hospitality setting. It?s clear the establishment would benefit greatly from a full review of its operations, including staff training, updated amenities (such as child seating), fly fans for the table if needed and measures to improve cleanliness and comfort.
Given that the restaurant was nearly empty during our visit, it?s not hard to understand why. Unfortunately, we won?t be returning

We were there for a wedding. Lovely drinks outside before the meal. There were a few hiccups on the timing of the delivery of the food but that did not spoil the occasion. Excellent food, good quality and quantity.

Been coming here on a regular basis for past 3 years ,was here today at 1pm for a booking of 10 persons Wednesday August 30th,got to say service was very slow, waiting ages for food,3 persons asked for 3 pints of diet coke and was given 2 bottles each of normal coke,the deep fried cod we had was awful the fish looked grey not white,the batter was so hard ,had a job to try and cut it and also garlic bread was really burnt and rock hard to try a bite to chew,overall experience today was bad

Been a few times for large family meals, every time staff have been very attentive and friendly even with large numbers of us. The food is always lovely, the beef Sunday dinner is delicious. Plenty of vegetables and meat, and they came round with offerings of more potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. It is pricey meal but the service and food makes it worth it.

Party of 10 last night and the service was awful. Pre booked our table but you had wrong numbers, you got more chairs and shoved us all together so it was uncomfortable. Chucked upstairs in a corner, had to go to bar for my own drinks! First and last time for me. Wasn?t impressed at all.

Booked a table outside, took 10 -15mins to find the name on there system, once we were at the table the level of service was terrible sat there without a drink for a while, then to find out I have to get up and order my food like its a school canteen made me laugh, food was nice but for the price and level of service I've had a lot better, where I can sit at my table and order my food and relax. Over rated by far

Great hotel pub/ restaurant at the end of Cardiff bay walk. We sat outside and ordered from the QR code menu. Drinks came within a couple of mins. Good service and selection.

The Old Custom House is a great place for food or a drink. The Food is excellent and cooked very nicely. You will not be disappointed. Seafood, Lamb steak, Steaks all are excellent. Try it for yourself views over the Penarth Barrage looking to Cardiff just lovely.
