Great local, with a mix of student heavy atmosphere on one side and a more chilled locals area at the front. Good amount of screens for sport, and no shortage of visitors, which can get very busy during the university months!

Good food, but the staff spend more time bickering behind the bar in a group than actually serving. Ordered a drink and it was left for 20 minutes before I asked them to make it!

Xmas day lunchtime beers with family is always good - if your in a welcoming friendly pub it's even better... First time in here - free shot to everyone who came in. A lovely looking pub from the outside too Great selection of beers. The two guys behind the bar - sorry forget your names - were excellent hosts and full of Xmas spirit. Absolutely loved it here. Unreal spot for some cheap drinks, watching sport, or playing pool. Great friendly atmosphere and a quality drink selection. The best place to go to in Cardiff for a proper pub experience. Never got to try the food but everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Cannot fault the place will 100% be coming back.

the Mackingtosh Hotel is a great place to go have drinks with mates with amazing staff and great prices for drinks. really nice of them to host our sports socials each week, never had a bad time. highly recommend this place to have a fun time.

Best spot in Cardiff, loads of fun. Beer, cider and Guinness all on draught. Cheap as chips, perfect spot for a night out. Occasional live performances from accredited singer ?Viner?. Get to the Mac if you like having fun and drinking lots of carling!

Great place to go for a pint, especially as a university student, the service is friendly and quick, there is an amazing atmosphere and all round a very good pub. would recommend.
