Always pleasant staff at Hotel Chocolat , I mainly order online but for my annual trip to Cardiff for the Speedway always have a visit and the staff are always friendly ?

Well it's chocolate. What's not to like? So if you sign up as a new customer you get 15% off everything and then if you have the VIP card you get 20% off drinks...... So realistically you'd be a fool to play full price.....

This review is for Sunday 30 June 2024.
The website showed the shop as being open till 5pm. At just before 4:25 pm, I and five children entered and asked for ice cream. We were told the cafe was closed.
We took this at face value. We looked around a bit, decided to go to Swoon Gelato, and just before we left, double checked why the cafe was closed, so we would know what time to come in the future. I was told the cafe closed at 4:30pm on Sunday. I looked at my Android device, which showed 4:28 pm. At least 5 minutes after we had walked in.
I pointed this out to her lady at the counter. Who said her system showed 4:30pm.
Even if I accept that, It would not have shown the same time five minutes earlier, when we first walked in.
Extremely disappointed at the very poor customer service.
Kid-friendliness: Not child friendly - staff is inconsiderate and rude.

Chocolate to die for. Vast choice, something for every one with price ranges to suit every pocket. The 6 piece selector packs at £4.95 each with offers if you buy 3 are in a large variety of choices to suit all tastes. Once you have tasted their chocolate you want won?t anyone else?s!
Also has a small cafe.

I visited today and had a lovely vegan hot chocolate and a cake . It is a nice place to visit and the staff are so friendly . I will be calling back soon for another vegan hot chocolate.

Waited 10 mins to get served while the girl serving went to wash some dishes ... only 2 of us in queue 3 staff there fussing doing nothing in particular give up in the end didn't bother...

Yesterday, I got charged twice for a Chocolate by one of your staff members. Today, I went back to the shop hoping for a quick refund, only to find out they've been experiencing issues with Monzo cards, which they failed to inform me about. The staff advised me to contact the service center for a refund, saying they couldn't do it on the spot. Now, I have to spend more time sorting this out. Quite disappointed with the whole experience.

The chocolate tastes very good at a reasonable price, it?s a perfect gift to give for Christmas to different chocolate lovers. The alcohol flavoured chocolate was very nice and cute.

I?ve loved visiting Hotel Chocolat cafes for years, and particularly this one. The staff have always been so friendly, but they do come and go. This time I was served by Ffion (sorry if spelling is wrong!), who was genuinely so kind and not to mention patient; I forgot to ask for dairy-free milk, and hadn?t realised she already started making the drink when I flagged it. I felt so bad. However, she straight away told me not to worry and that she can make it again. It wasn?t even that she remade the drink for me, but the way she tried her best to make sure I didn?t feel bad. She was incredibly polite and kept a nice smile whilst serving not just me, but others. Thank you for being so kind, it?s massively appreciated. It?s important to me to have staff who really care ? as opposed to customers just being numbers (or names written on a cup) as feeling valued and respected keeps us coming back ? and that?s before you tuck into the hot drinks here, which is for sure unrivalled by other chain?s hot chocolates!

Went in today, awful smell inside the building. Staff refused to accept cash now. Will be looking to local producers from now.
