My daughter and I went yesterday with our dog. We shared a toastie and a portion of chips.. The food was sensational, excellent value for money. The sausages were tasty and the toastie was jam packed!!.. Half was enough for us both and we didn't finish the chips. The staff were lovely, super friendly and it was the PERFECT stop off on a beautiful dog walk in the woods. A total value for money,.. and I would recommend it to everyone wanting a welcome break.. Thank you for spoiling my dog.. he loved the ice cream. Any negative reviews are completely uncalled for , or by someone with no taste buds.. Keep up the good work.. Ps I'm not a relative or friend and it was my first visit!!! ??

I've just eaten here after seeing the good reviews, and honestly am wondering if the good reviews have been left by friends and family! Had the breakfast for £7.50, which had zero flavour! The sausages are your standard frozen sausages that are deep fried, the eggs were pretty hard and again flavourless. The toast was anaemic and again just your cheap loaf with cheap spread.
Also had a pot of tea, and this lacked any flavour too!
The inside of the place too leaves a lot to be desired, and should maybe have taken that as a sign of what the food would be like - tasteless!

What a little gem of a place, I'm not sure what is going on with the outside seating area's but it's not kept clean or tidy, not very welcoming at all. The outside seating is old, worn out and dirty, there are old wooden chairs and tables dumped in the corner by a shed. There is a beautiful peacock who looks not looked after and a chicken kept in some sort of run which is baracaded by old pallets and there is some rubbish strewn at the bottom of the run, the coop looks abysmal. Scraps of food has been put in there with cracked eggs shells. It just looks like everyone has given up on this place and its about to be shut down. Such a shame because the staff are lovely and the teas, cake and coffee were great.

A fabulous place I wish I had found before! Staff were very friendly and the bacon bun I had was delicious, good amount of bacon in a brioche bun with a side salad and crisps. Will be back for sure

A bit dated place with soul. Perfect if you are looking for a place to rest after a walk in the forest. Limited parking spaces, it was my second visit and managed to park on both occasions even though it was a weekend.

Fantastic cafe in absolutely beautiful surroundings. Great Toasties, and super welcoming to dogs. Lovely place to stop during a wander through the forest or after a visit to castell coch.
