AVOID DFS ? ESPECIALLY THIS STORE AND ITS MANAGER
I had an awful experience with both the product and the customer service. The store manager was incredibly rude and dismissive, showing zero professionalism or transparency.
I called in to request a repair for my brand new sofa, which arrived with scratches, scuffs, and peeling paint. When I explained how disappointed I was, the manager?s response was: ?All genuine leather will be like that.? Really? So, according to DFS, all genuine leather should come with holes, scratches, and visible damage?
The sofa was clearly of poor quality, and if this passed their so-called ?quality check,? it raises serious concerns about the company overall. Based on other reviews, it?s clear I?m not alone ? many people have had similar issues with this manager?s rude attitude.
She made it extremely difficult to get a repair arranged. I was told I would receive a follow-up call, but that never happened. It?s incredibly unprofessional to ignore customers after a sale ? especially when the product arrives damaged.
If you?re spending a significant amount on a sofa, you deserve better products and proper aftercare. DFS clearly fails on both counts. Save yourself the frustration ? there are plenty of better furniture companies out there, even on a budget. Don?t waste your time or money here.

Warranty is ONLY 2 years for external parts of sofa.
ie. Cushions and stitching
NOT 15 years
Went back after 2 years and 2 months and was told (Go away) try the Ombudsman....

Drove in to check out a sofa as Google clearly says the store is open, but it seems it?s been temporarily closed for a while now. Very disappointed.

Unable to rate DFS as the store was temporarily closed due to what looked like major building work internally.Very disappointing as it was a specific journey to view sofas.However another company had a store close by and they got the business.

Can't even express how disappointed I am regarding the service we've received. Been 6 days without a sofa due to wrong sofa being delivered in a colour that dosent exist? And despite requesting a callback for update on the 23,24,27,28, no one had the common decacancy to contact us regarding an update. Totally unprofessional!

We were served by Alison in the store back in the summer. Alison was lovely, very professional and friendly. However, she made a mistake on our order and said that the San antonio was modular. We could only have the sofa if it was modular as we were changing it from a 2 by 2 to a 3 by 1, which was discussed. Delivery day came Friday and the sofa was not modular for us to change the reconfiguration, (the 2 seats are fixed together).
Our old sofas had been removed, new carpet put down the day before all ready for the new sofa. The store agreed it was their mistake. We all make mistakes that isn't the issue, the issue is the way they are handling the mistake.
On Friday after the attempted delivery, my husband went down to DFS. Alison herself was very apologetic to my husband but the store manager was cold and rude. We have been told to wait another 3 months and offered secondhand loan furniture that was removed from someone's house when they were getting their new sofas. However, I have small children with allergies and this is not a viable option.
We asked for compensation to buy bean bags, this was met with 'no DFS does not do that'. No compensation, no reduction in price, nothing. Our customer service was not important.
On Friday we asked to cancel the order as it is clear that the service would be horrendous if there was another issue. The store manager said that they couldn't do it themselves and would need to speak to someone higher, and promised to ring my husband back Monday. Monday came and they did not ring back, my husband went to the store after work (around 5.30pm) and all the managers had gone home. This is the aftercare you shall have if there is an issue. Left in the dark with no regard, there are new customers to sell to they are busy with them.
We have been told that the managers will be in tomorrow and a phone call by 10 am. We were also offered a grey fabric San Mateo sofa that can arrive in 2 weeks. This has been the best solution offered to us so far however it is not ideal as it is not the chosen material, we ordered leather this is fabric, nor is it the colour we ordered or close to. We were also offered it at the same price as what is advertised for, no further discount.
We have asked as the sofa we want is half made can we not have the other end of the sofa made in time for Christmas. Surely as the sofa we ordered and wanted is half made (2 fixed and corner), atleast the 1 end could be made in time for Christmas to make it a 2 by 1. But apparently not, that one piece will take 11 weeks.
I expect underneath this will be a notification to contact dfs....i think dfs should be contacting us, our details are at Cardiff dfs. Aftercare does not mean that we are meant to travel down to the store several times for you to acknowledge us.
