Not great service from the hire pickup store in Roath or the call centre. Hired a nail gun from here a few weeks ago. I?m not in the building trade so never used one before. It was handed over to me with no explenation on how to use it or what nails I needed. So asked if I could buy some nails and the guy said we dont supply them go to screw fix around the corner, that was it. Tock it home and couldn?t get it to work so after googling the make realised I needed gas for it. Went back to screwfix and spent £41 on gas. Tried it again and still didn?t work, it would fire one nail then get Jammed. Spent over an hour trying to get it working before I gave up and finished my DIY job with good old fashioned hammer and nails. Emailed the company to complain and was told to take it back to the store and they would refund me the hire cost but not the £41 I had just wasted on gas as I didn?t buy it from them. Tried explaining that I was not offered the gas from them or I would have purchased it and saved me time and money running around to screw fix (twice) Was promised that someone would get back to me but they never did. Also did not get my refund for the hire so after 2 weeks I chased them up again and I got it. Won?t be using them again.

A very fair price for hire of a cement mixer and disc cutter. The cutter failed after 20cm but very quickly changed for a new one by staff. Flexible with return. Needed proof of ID but was willing to accept an email copy which made it easy to achieve from my smartphone

Not a good company to use after years of using failed to deliver their service because of a proof of address. Will use Phoenix hire from now on who promptly provided a machine within the hour, delivered to the door.
