“I love the layout of the bookshop, it’s a great location in city centre, and it’s big enough to have a strong selection of books.

The café is great, and the prices aren’t too bad for coffee or pastry.”

“A fantastic retro shop where they make a big effort on the displays and going around the shop itself is like a carefully curated museum. Tom is super knowledgeable and even happy to give friendly advice or just have a chat about retro gaming and collecting. Through the years I've acquired some rarer and my favourite items in my collection here. Well worth a visit.”

“A very nice garden centre with lots to see. The café was really good, although there was a problem with the machine and our order didn’t go through, so we ended up waiting around an hour before asking about it. I believe it was the manager who helped us, he was very apologetic and gave us free drinks and crisps with our food as an extra, since we had ordered chips. Despite the hiccup, the staff handled it well, and I would definitely come again.”

“Delighted that they had the stock advertised on their website. Staff exceptionally helpful. I managed to buy what I needed and more for a very good price. It's worth a visit for games, craft and interactive toys, books, and learning material for all.”

“Excellent store with wide range of usual products. However, it is situated within the main concourse of a very big and busy hospital. Parking difficult. So not suitable for every day shopping.”

“I visited the store a few weeks ago on a Sunday looking for a few things I could get my younger brother for an art project. I had the pleasure of bumping into Rugena who was so cordial and really went the extra mile by suggesting the best types of paints and materials I should go with. She was thorough in providing me detail on products, she spent the best part of 30 minutes just talking to me about ideas on how my brother can complete his project. I have never met anyone so creative!! If I could give 10 stars on her service in particular I would.”

“We had our wedding reception at Porro yesterday and wow it was perfect from start to finish!! The staff were amazing, so efficient in everything from decorating the room to serving the food and drinks. Everyone said how lush the food was too, way better than most ‘wedding’ venues I’ve been too. So tasty. Would definitely recommend Porro restaurant - thank you again all!!”

“Whoever suggested opening an Oxfam shop just for books deserves a medal. This is my favourite bookshop ever. I don't even look for books anywhere else now. I have very often spent my bus fare in this shop while waiting for the bus I was meant to get to uni. The thing I love about this store is that even though the books have all been pre-owned, they are great condition, and the covers aren't ruined by the price stickers that most charity shops use. And everything's arranged so clearly (and properly!), classics have their own section, and there's a nice little shelf of really old, rare and first edition books that always excites me. An absolute must for students and booklovers, and also for parents as the children's section is great. I feel I should also point out how conveniently close it is to the train station. Clearly an excellent place to grab a book for your journey.”

“I really do lovely this shop. It's magazines and cards downstairs and then you can go in possibly the most rickety lift in Cardiff up to books and an amazing discounted section which is really worth a check. Great to buy presents on a budget and staff kind and helpful.”

“Popped in on the way to Brecon, toilet stovp and food. BK had just launched vegan Royale and therefore not on the screen. We were served by the true prince of Wales Callum. Not only was he polite he was a fantastic asset to BK and Wales. He advised us that the plant based whopper was not completely Vegan due to cooking methods and that the ideal choice for my partner would be the Vegan Royale. Served up piping hot, fantastic portion size and offer of condiments. Best BK we've had!. Thanks Callum, very much appreciated”

“Are you a mad, crazy book fanatic? This larger bookshop holds millions of different genres of books and it has many different bargains and prices of their books too. The staff are pleasant and useful enough. They tend to act upon your queries quickly and promptly and they often sort them out with the help of their computer systems. This bookshop was opened in 1879 on New Year's Day by Benjamin Henry Blackwell who had previously become involved in the Temperance Society. His father had also been involved with such a society making bookselling a part of their family blood. This society created a chance of promoting self-education and religion and reading (with it also encouraged people to take part in). This family was a devout family towards the Temperance Society partly due to their religion and partly because Benjamin's father was tee-total, which was an action taken place because of the excise duty on alcohol that the government made money from. This bookshop is not as big as the WaterStones bookshop in the Cardiff town centre, but it does have many books inside it for great prices. It is situated not far from The Sherman Theatre, on a road called Senghennydd Road. I recommend it for all...”

“D'habitude, j'apprécie toujours d'avoir la possibilité d'acheter un meal deal pour quelques GBP (4) dans les whsmith. Mais ici le choix est plus que limité pour le principal: aucune salade ni fruits. Dommage. Mais la formule est toujours aussi intéressante si vous voulez un sandwich, une boisson et un snack!”
