“Have been here now for lunch twice and dinner once. This review is of the dinner we had on Friday 15th December. 6 friends got together for a Christmas catch up. We were privileged to be the first to get a taste of their new menu and it didn’t disappoint. 3 of us had garlic mushrooms to start and they were absolutely delicious! My only reservation and it’s very personal is the sauce could have been thicker, it was more like a soup texture, but having said that, the taste was spot on! We then had 2 ducks, 2 pork’s and 2 butchers platters. The butchers platters were incredible! No dry meat and huge portions. The duck was cooked to perfection and my partner tells me the pork was excellent. Good choice of side dishes especially potato options. Double cooked chips and hassleback to name a few, me and one friend opted for the dauphinois and they were to die for! I cannot recommend this venue enough, exceptional value for money with no compromise on the quality of the produce. We are off to a service station for dinner seems a bit odd? But don’t let this put you off! This is Carmarthen’s hidden gem to my mind. Dress up and celebrate special occasions most definitely a thing to do. I was the only “hero” in the group to attempt a dessert, crème brûlée which was incredible! The staff are so lovely and attentive. Looove Magda! There’s another guy and I’m annoyed I didn’t get his name to give him a shout out (next time). Full credit to the chef, again don’t know his name but will be leaving my partner of 20 years and marrying him soon so ??♀️.
