Enjoyed our stay here. Lovely service, very friendly, rooms basic but comfy and more than adequate after a day climbing Snowdon. Well located for a walk in to Llanberris and the lady that checked us in was very helpful recommending places to eat etc.

Everyone at the hostel was extremely friendly and the breakfast was amazing! However, I found a used candy wrapper on my bed and I found that the bunk beds were a bit dirty. The sheets were clean though! There was no kitchen or area to store your food, which was unfortunate considering I had brought food. Also the bottom of the storage containers, makes you place valuables on the floor. There was no cage or proper container. My clothes/valuables had brown dirt on it when I took them out! I just wanted to share!

We booked a family room was horrible, it was a converted single room adjusted with double bed and bunk bed with no space for turning around or keeping trolley. Also no lift available and you have to carry luggage all by yourself upstairs through very narrow stairs.
Horrible experience.

Went here for a meal when camping in Llanberis and we wanted a pizza or a burger. Good food and very friendly staff!!

Good hostel room in a terrific location for exploring Snowdon. Staff are lovely and there is a nice sitting room. Bedrooms are small but adequate. Bathroom was tiny. No room to dry after shower without falling over the loo.
Nearby activities: Snowdon railway and walk a few miles away.

Very well placed, great views from windows over Mount Snowdon or the lake, comfortable rooms and rustic inn atmosphere. I loved my stay at the Gallt y Glyn hostel and will come back. Thank you Elin and your team.

We had a terrible experience at Gallt Y Glyn. The room was filthy with a terrible smell and the ceiling had mold. We could not sleep in such conditions so we checked out earlier and booked elsewhere.

Gallt y Glyn Hostel offers a refreshing retreat amidst nature's splendor. The rooms and toilets are kept impeccably clean, fostering a comfortable stay. The vibrant atmosphere is infectious, thanks to the amiable staff who eagerly share trekking tips, enhancing the adventure spirit. Plus, the breathtaking mountain views from the rooms elevate the experience. However, a minor hiccup was encountered with an unclean cup in the room, swiftly resolved by the responsive staff who promptly provided replacements. Overall, a delightful stay with exceptional service and scenery.Rooms: Room was really clean and quite impressive

I'm sharing this so that no one else becomes the same victim. While traveling from London to Wales, there was a train cancellation. The hotel did not refund me even for the train cancellation. Also, the hotel's cancellation policy is unclear, and even if you cancel 3 days in advance, you will not receive a refund. Please be especially careful if you are traveling from England to Wales. The train company Avanti West Coast frequently cancels and delays trains.April 9thThe train from London to Bangor was canceled at Crewe station. The railway company is Avanti West Coast. We were told that no matter how we tried, we would not be able to travel by train from Crewe station, where the train stopped, to Bangor station that day due to an error in the mechanical system and a lack of crew.So I decided to make a tearful return trip from Crewe to London.?I informed the hotel that I would not be able to stay because the train was cancelled.?The hotel told me to cancel because there might be other guests' reservations.I canceled by 4:00pm before hotel opening hours and before check-in.?There was no communication from the hotel about a replacement customer, and the reservation was canceled.?When I asked Avanti for hotel compensation after canceling my train, they asked me to negotiate directly with the hotel. My friends in England also told me that normally the hotel should refund them.?However, the hotel refused any refund. Because I am a small business, I cannot get a refund. I booked a single room for £58.result?Welsh Government?Visit Wales?Consumer Protection CenterI filed a complaint in that order.I also filed a complaint using the dispute resolution form at Booking.com, where I booked the hotel. At Booking.com, we had representatives from both Japan and the UK.Booking.com told me that they could refund me directly, but I needed permission from the hotel owner. However, the hotel refused to cooperate.Booking.com is unable to refund my money. Booking.com said they would refund the money, not the hotel. lolAnd, according to Tourism Wales, this hotel does not meet the Visit Wales voluntary inspection scheme (Star Quality Grading). Check out this list of hotels for your stay in Wales.summaryIt's a shame that even if the train was suddenly canceled, I couldn't get a refund for the hotel I wasn't staying at.Even though I wasn't staying there, I canceled before the hotel opened, so how much money did I incur?Generally in England and Japan you get a refund for train cancellations and bad weather, but they say they are a small business so they can't give you a refund.Even if the train is cancelled. Also, even if you have a plan that allows cancellation, you will not be able to cancel from 3 days in advance. In other words, you will not get your hotel fee back, even if it is 3 days in advance or on the day. Try checking out how long you can cancel with a cancelable plan ?Train company Avanti West Coast has one out of every six trains canceled or delayed. This means that anyone traveling by train from London to Wales should be very careful.Even if the train is cancelled, the hotel fee will not be refunded. Therefore, we recommend choosing a hotel that is affiliated with Visit Wales or a hotel that allows you to cancel even if your train is cancelled.I've been staying overseas for 20 years, staying at hotels all over the country, but this is the first time I've encountered such a terrible problem. And in England. In Wales!Instead of being a small business that focuses on its own profits, choose a hotel that is people-oriented and doesn't resent even a single customer.
