Enjoyed a very pleasant stroll along the harbour quay between the Pont Yr Aber and the railway station. Some good views of the castle and boats on the River Seiont, but you need to watch your step as it's quite a drop down to the water! This is also known as the Slate Quay because slate from the Welsh quarries was loaded on to sailing ships here throughout the 19th century, when Caernarfon was a bustling port with shipyards, foundries and ocean-going vessels. The harbour office building is Grade II listed and has a small exhibition with interpretation boards and a few artefacts, which I found really interesting. You can also go on boat trips from here along the coast and to the Menai Strait. There's a pay and display car park along the harbourfront and free public toilets close by.

Lovely area.

Good sunset view. The early 2000s buildings are a mixed bag. Generally too little ground level activity to make for a lively place

I have a mooring here, so know the area well. Beautiful location, some great walks, lots of place a to stay and many good restaurants.
