Absolutely awesome pub. Allowed us to bring in a kebab from over the road, all of the bar staff couldn't do enough for you and we're lovely and welcoming. They've got a focus on serving the absolute best pint they can and still remain at very good prices. Had a great night in here, even stuck my vape on charge for me when it was dying. Best pub in Builth!

This place ROCKS! Fight night is usually Sunday night, with a wide variety of interesting participants. Take your seat at 7pm. A spectacle not to be missed! Cracking pub.

Fantastic proper home-cooked food, white bate, calamari, prawns fried in butter to die for,Hunters chicken one of the best we have ever had, definitely worth a visit, support local, very reasonably priced. £41 including drinks! Quirky collection of spirits the glitter gin was great on the pallet to finish off our road trip to north Wales, a 2 hour trip home now, glad google maps recommended this lovely find. ??

Very friendly and accommodating with food choices. Delicious home cooking, service with a smile, and great value for money. Highly recommend!Parking: Free street parking seems to be quite limited nearby, but we managed to find a space just round the corner from the pub.

Goodness me...what a difference four months can make! On our previous visit, the varied menu was a pleasure and the food was superb, as was the service...what on earth has happened. The menu is now typical of any pub, and unfortunately, the food was decidedly poor. The steak was like a piece of leather, and the fries had clearly been recooked numerous times. The service was almost non existent. The lads seemed more interested at having a good time with their friends in the other bar. I had given recommendations to my friends to visit the Barley Mow...now I need to ring round telling them not to bother. Perhaps Thursday is not a good night to visit? Unfortunately, we won't be returning. ? Really disappointed.

Possibly the best pub in Wales. Staff were lovely, locals were so welcoming (as an English tourist). Food was amazing. 10/10
