We were visiting Bridgend as part of our visit in Porthcawl. We decided we would visit The Two Brewers for food. On arrival there was no greet to seat us to a table, so we just chose a table and sat down.
When ordering at the bar, it was a moment that hurt my brain from ordering food to just watching the unorganised staff behind the bar. It almost felt like ordering food for a family of 8 was a huge inconvenience to the restaurant and this was evident in the delivery of service and food quality. We ordered a couple of starters to come out with the mains, yet these were brought out to us before the mains. These were then taken back out as we said we wanted them with the mains. These starters had taken about 35 minutes to come out. Then the food came out around 35-40 minutes later with the original starters that been brought out to us, these starters were cold, sauce had started to form a crust from sitting.
The food that had been cooked for the mains had clearly been sitting under a hot lamp for a considerable amount of time. Steak was like chewing through rubber, cold and dry. Other food items on the plate was cold, and dry. Hunters chicken had seen a microwave to reheat before being brought out as the cheese had separated and cremated to the dish. Adults tikka masala was the same size portion as the children?s Korma curry. Chips had clearly been deep fried more than once as the potato inside had almost disappeared leaving a hard crust. Garnish items were also missing off plates that were stated on the menu.
The service delivering the food was chaotic, was all plonked onto the table on a large serving tray, and not distributed as you would expect and seemed like a huge confusion to staff. Staff were huffing and sighing. When asked if the food was ok, we just agreed and said yes as it had taken so long for the food to arrive there is clearly no point in raising the issues to staff as this would have extended our anticipated short stay at this restaurant. And at this point we had already been in the restaurant for up to two hours. It would have been partially acceptable for the wait time if the tables were full of diners, but barely anyone was ordering food and I can see why.
The only good service I believe we had received was from a lady in the outdoor area, asking if we would like the bouncy castle up for the children. I suspect this lady is either the land lady, or just a regular punter but she was very nice, and very chatty with us which made the experience slightly better.
It?s evident that this is a pub, that is full of regular punters, as the service given to you is not the same. And it?s a shame, as this could be a very decent place to choose for food if you are provided with the right service, quality of food and atmosphere because as I mentioned, you seem like a huge inconvenience to staff.
If you are visiting Bridgend for food, then I would advise on searching the wider area to have a much better experience which is actually money worthy as this was a complete waste of money, time and patience and my advice to The Two Brewers, would be to give the chef extra training or source a new chef, and hire people who appear they actually want to work in your restaurant because the staff that was helping out the lady who took our order looked fuming each time they were asked to pour a couple of drinks for our order. In the long run this is going to cause costs to your business as you will lose customers.
If I visit Bridgend again, I will certainly read reviews for this place before even contemplating coming back to see if there has been an improvement and I suggest others do to so that they don?t waste their money.

Had a wonderful experience at the Two Brewers Pub! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a classic pub charm. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious ? hearty portions and great quality, especially the Sunday roast and the fish & chips. A solid selection of ales and beers too.

Quick stop off after shopping in the area. Staff were welcoming and food was good. Online menu didn't reflect what was actually available with the drinks (but our fault for being lazy and ordering from the table). Found it a bit expensive but we all left full so can't complain overall

Waited longer than 51min to receive our meals. When I asked can we have any type of credit as we go to Marstons often, the lady checked with someone and came back with ?you can have a free pudding?. My 88 year old father and 70 year old mother and I said ?We can?t stay any longer sorry!?? the lady walked away and did not have any other suggestions. The excuse for such a long wait was that ?the new chef had a meltdown?. Even so, we felt more could have been done such as a credit of some sort. VERY disappointed.

First time visiting and it'll be the last time, we was a walkin- i was told either Sunday roast or burgers and they do dippers or burger for kids. Partner went up and ordered a cowboy burger and a cheese burger then our little one a burger. 2 double cheese burger came out? No idea what happened. Werent offered cutlery or any sauces so when i come back from toiket from our daughter i had to then go and ask for cutlery and sauces etc. We were hungry so didn't want to complain. Toilet door in females didn't lock and there small! Seemed as if you weren't a regular don't bother showing up more then anything????. Staff looked quite new aswell, but won't be coming again only cause we was in the area we came. Well go somewhere else next time.

Waited a long time at the bar to be served. Although I wasn't the last to arrive, every single other person was served before me. Felt like being overlooked in favour of regulars. My friend felt the same.
Drinks themselves ok, atmosphere nice and chilled.
Toilets awful - of 3 ladies loos, one didn't lock, one didn't have a toilet seat, one was dirty and didn't have toilet paper.
Food service is apparently until 8pm, but stopped more like 7.30pm so a friend who arrived a bit later (7.45) was unable to order.
Website has a table booking function which doesn't work and says the venue is always closed.
