I had the lamb and roasties with sticky pudding and proper custard. The lamb was very tender and cooked perfectly, the roasties were crispy and soft inside. The vegetables were fresh and steamed for a short time with slight salt. The service was friendly and wasnt noisy.

A lovely afternoon lunch. My wife and I visited this afternoon and were truly impressed with the food and service. I had the venison pie and it was one of the nicest pies I?ve eaten for a long time. I also ordered a side of onion rings and I was not disappointed. My wife had a beetroot and falafel ciabatta and again it was delicious. Wonderful atmosphere and service was great. We will definitely return

Superb chicken roast dinner, followed by a warm chocolate brownie that was wonderfully crispy but gooey, and all very reasonably priced
We took our Visitors for a Sunday roast, we think it was one of the best we have had. Beautiful Lamb, lovely fresh vegetables all served on a hot plate, asked for extra gravy which was no problem. Staff very friendly and would definitely go again and hopefully soon.

Absolutely incredible roast! Not one person had any complaints.
Veggie roast is really good too. Would definitely recommend for a Sunday roast.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. It was empty in there. Ordered a drink never received it had to re order. Food was OK, but again, compared to what it used to be, it's far, far off.
Following up on the response below.
I never said the food was that bad, so yes, we ate our food ? Unsure why you have mentioned this ? I did speak up on the evening as I had to re order drinks ? Again, I am unsure why you said i said nothing that evening ? My personal opinion is that it is nowhere near the atmosphere and quality of what it used to be, which I am entitled to and the fact it's taken a month to respond to a customer shows the level of service.

We are both vegans. The place we were supposed to go had run out of vegan choices, so we phoned the star and they managed to fit us in. I'm glad we did, it was a far nicer place all round . Two vegan choices. Food was fab and the staff were lovely.

Delicious meal tonight. Very well presented and large portions. Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff.
Would recommend the meals here. Well done chef.
Only one blip, the mens toilets smelt . Had to pass them on the way out. The women's were very clean though.

Had a coffee and tea here midweek afternoon. The service was warm and friendly. Only one other couple was in the place at the time, so it was very quiet.
