We regularly have Sunday Lunch in Leicester's restaurant at the Great House and it never fails to impress. The quality of local ingredients is extremely good and cooked to perfection. However last night we tried the A la Carte evening menu and once again we were not disappointed. Absolutely superb. All the staff are always friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend.

I visited the restaurant today for a Christmas lunch. Lovely surroundings beautifully decorated for Christmas. When we ordered one of our party is allergic to garlic, I should have phoned to tell them this but did not get around to it. However when we all ordered Turkey we were told there was garlic in everything, I asked please could they make something without garlic. This was not possible because all the food is pre ordered in and just warmed up. This did not seem to sit well for such a lovely restaurant.
They managed to bring a plate with Turkey greens and little else.
I must say, the Turkey was very tough, Brussels sprouts too hard to cut, and the only carrot was fine. Come on you can do better than that.
It did seem to me like a conveyor belt of food ready prepared in the kitchen and put on a plate, surely you don?t need a chief to do this, is this another way of cutting costs, I guess so,
Maybe stick to deserts and coffee they were fine.

A little hotel/pub/venue. I attended a wedding and evening party and love the building and ambience for both. The staff are fantastic and friendly where it felt like nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely during the day and evening.
I can't recommend the Great House Hotel highly enough.

Food & drinks: My friend bought me afternoon tea here for my birthday but since then, I have developed allergies to gluten, dairy, tomato and chocolate. I dropped them an email and they spoke to their chef and made my plate especially for me and to my dietary restrictions. It was a lovely day out with my friend, will definitely go back! ?
