Was in Curry?s PC World Bridgend today wanting to buy a laptop for university as got my old one from there. They were brilliant and gave me educational discount with being a student.
Today was a quick sale and got the laptop I wanted, however, the customer service was not the best. The store seemed to be short staffed as I had to wait 15 minutes for a member of staff to find someone to come and help me. I was not upsold at all, and I was not questioned about what the laptop was going to be used for or what I wanted the laptop to do. It was as if they didn?t care and wanted a quick sale.
The laptop I wanted was apparently in clearance and they gave me the laptop off the shelf that was modelling in store. However, with it being the last one they had, they couldn?t give me the box for the laptop and as a university student, there was no educational discount and no discount with it being on clearance either. So I was quite disappointed having to pay full price.

Awful Service - avoid this branch
I have never experienced such unprofessional and rude customer service in my life. I visited Currys in Bridgend to buy a camera and from the start it was a disaster. My friend politely asked one of the staff if anyone could help us, and they replied with a blunt ?No.? After waiting around for about 10 minutes, she asked another member of staff who also said ?No.? Nobody made any effort to help.
Eventually someone came over, but when I asked a few simple questions about the camera, she huffed, gave me unhelpful answers, and admitted she didn?t know. As she walked off, she spoke to her colleagues in a way that made it clear she saw me as a nuisance.
We arrived at 7:30pm and they close at 8pm, but staff were already cashing up 30 minutes early, leaving barely anyone to help customers. After all the fuss, they eventually brought out the camera. The woman at the till asked if anyone had checked the box ? I said no, so she glanced inside for half a second and said ?it looks fine.?
When I got to my car, I opened the box properly and there was no camera inside. I went straight back, but the doors were already locked. After knocking, they reluctantly opened up. I explained the situation and instead of apologising, they acted frustrated, gave no reassurance, and just disappeared without telling me what was going on.
Eventually someone returned with the actual camera (apparently they?d given me the display box by mistake). My friend asked if the camera was definitely inside this time, and the man replied rudely: ?Well yeah, you?ve just seen it.? No apology, no accountability, nothing.
This store clearly does not value customers. Rude, dismissive staff, zero communication, and giving out empty boxes is beyond unacceptable. I will never shop here again and I recommend avoiding this branch entirely.

Outstanding Service from Oliver at Currys
I want to say a huge thank you to Oliver for his incredible knowledge, guidance, and support in helping me fix my laptop. From the moment I walked in, he was patient, professional, and genuinely committed to resolving the issue.
He clearly explained the possible causes and walked me through each step, offering solutions I wouldn?t have known about otherwise. Thanks to his support, my laptop is now up and running again ? and just in time for an important deadline!
It?s rare to come across someone so helpful and knowledgeable. Currys is lucky to have him ? and I?ll definitely be returning for any future tech help.

Website sucks, entered the stores postcode as I wanted to check stock, website claims invalid postcode. Visited the store to get a kb/mouse combo. Found the keyboards but not the combos. Jonah and a colleague found what I wanted and brought it to me. Great staff let down by a poor website.
