A long awaited date night in what read as the perfect getaway! But sadly very disappointing, firstly we would stood in reception for a long time on arrival after ringing the bell with no one to be seen and a queue forming behind us. We eventually got shown to our room which at first glance looked perfect, until my husband asked if I had used the towel? I hadn?t, it was a dirty towel from previous guests, there was some what we thought was red wine in the decanter but a very small amount so on arriving for dinner we told the lady who seemed to be almost single handily running the place about the towel & the drink in the decanter to which we were told it was complementary port. In regards to the towel the lady apologised & told us she?d send someone up to change it.. how this was ever going to happen during a busy dinner service with 2 staff we should have known this was a false promise, to which it was, we returned to our room with the dirty towel & enough port to fill a large teaspoon definitely leftover from a previous guest! The next morning whilst enjoying the beautiful roll top bath I looked over to find a used contact lense on the window sill, yuk!The food & Camilla serving us were the highlight of our stay, it?s a shame standards aren?t as high as expected in such a beautiful place with a serious lack of attention todetail & blatantly under staffed, what a shame.

Customer service poor when dealing with a booking for afternoon tea with Groupon coupon. Apparently closed but I see no mention of this on website or Facebook. Unable to use voucher so getting refund and the hall not willing to allow us to book at Groupon prices.

Loved our stay at Llangoed, it's like being a house guest at a slightly quirky stately home.We had an excellent spacious comfortable room and ensuite with a gorgeous view over the gardens and hillsDinner was delicious all three nights complimented by Jeff's choice of wine, he was one of the nicest staff I have had the pleasure to meet as we're the rest of the staff.Breakfast is buffet, but was fresh and well stockedIt was a totally enjoyable experience

Very disappointed with afternoon tea. So pleased we had a voucher and it wasn't full price.

Low point of our holidayWe had booked a State Double room for three nights at Llangoed Hall, which was supposed to be the highlight of our holiday. However, on arrival, we were put in a Petit North Wing Double room. At first, we didn't realise that. However, we did not understand why we had to pay so much money for this small, stuffy and not at all clean room. The long list of imperfections included: stained and torn curtains and glass curtains, very small bed with a mattress where stiff duck feathers poked through the ticking, dirty carpets, rickety sanitary facilities, filthy ventilation grid in the bathroom, poor paintwork and a loose soap rack. After two nights, we discovered the confusion ourselves and were upgraded to a State Double room. That room was nice.Breakfast is a separate issue. For the price you have to pay for bed and breakfast, you expect at least a breakfast cooked to order. Unfortunately, it is buffet-style only where the chafing dishes provided dried-up bacon, greasy sausages, soggy mushrooms and a compact chunk of scrambled eggs. There was only one member of staff walking around who worked very hard. It wasn't at all her fault. (On the whole, it was hard to find staff when you needed them.)At check-out, they initially only wanted to compensate us for one night for the price difference. We had to talk like crazy and then they finally waived the two nights in the too small, way overpriced room in its entirety. That was a nice gesture but Llangoed Hall doesn't realise that this experience had more impact. After all, it is not about the money. We have now been left with a very negative experience from our holiday. Upon returning home, we sent an extensive email expressing our displeasure and asking questions about how this could have happened. Llangoed Hall unfortunately does not respond at all. It seems they cannot handle criticism constructively. They choose short-term damage control rather than long-term learning from mistakes. What a shame.Llangoed Hall has a lot of charm and potential and it is beautifully situated. Unfortunately, from our experience we can only advise one thing: spend your money elsewhere. Llangoed Hall is simply not worth it!

Staff were nice but half of them didn?t know what they were doing and when I asked for a vodka and coke at the unstaffed bar they put vodka in one glass coke in another, don?t bother trying to get a cocktail from their list.Room and house were nice however some things in the rooms was really poorly thought of, kettle had to be plugged in on the floor! One container of soap to be used at sink and shower with messages that you shouldn?t take them home!Dinner was pleasant however took their time, breakfast again no direction and black pudding was served cold on a side plate. Had to ask for extra tea.Card machines didn?t work when we left and was told an invoice would be sent, nothing they just debited my account. Can?t even give them a call to chase no one ever answers the phone.I will not be returning.

We had a lovely stay at Llangoed Hall, the room was beautiful, the location is great and the food was fantastic. We had the taster course menu that was made vegetarian for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

A beautiful experience.I have visited Llangoed Hall, Llyswen, Powys on several occasions. Sometimes for lunch and several times for afternoon tea. The views are breathtaking and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place.??

We always go for a posh Sunday lunch at Llangeod Hall when we visit Brecon and they never disappoint 10/10 for the delightful food and presentation. 11/10 for the lovely Japanese lady that served us with a constant friendly smile. And 10/10 for the lovely quiet ambiance and peaceful lunchroom. We can?t wait to visit again next year. Also this hotel also delivered each course with just the right amount of waiting time between each meal so you don?t feel rushed and can?t let each meal go down a bit before the next course comes out. Thanks guys !
