I'm sat here with my wife, having decided " last minute" to go out for something to eat.. Best decision ever! We have been here with a family group before, so we knew it would be good....we were wrong....it was amazing! Started with the soup of the day for me, and the brie wedges for my wife, and they were a triumph in themselves, they didn't deserve the name of " starters" they were good enough to be the star attraction on their own. For mains, I had the steak, I knew I was in for a treat when I tried one of the fries.....I'm not usually one for superlatives about food in pubs etc...but oh.my.god! BEST FRIES EVER! Crunchy, but fluffy in the middle, cooked to perfection. I was actually worried, usually when a meal starts this well it goes downhill...well, I was pleasantly surprised, I had the steak, I've had a lot of steak at various places, but this, this was just next level, cooked EXACTLY how I asked, every fork full was a joy, my only disappointment was that it ended way too soon! Anne had the lamb shank, again something she's had in countless places....and again it was rated as the best she'd ever had. I'm usually a hard critic, I'll find a fault, even a minor one...but not this time. The service, the staff, the setting, the food, all excellent, we will be back!Food & drinks: Just awesome

On our way to Elan Valley, we decided to stop for lunch at the Griffin Inn, and it turned out to be an absolutely delightful decision.Rebecca, who served us was not only friendly and attentive but also wonderfully kind to our daughter, making our dining experience even more pleasant. The food was nothing short of delicious. We had the fish and chips, a meat pizza, and halloumi cheese - each dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavors that left us wanting more. Moreover, the cleanliness of the place was notable. In these times, a clean and well-maintained establishment is more important than ever, and the Griffin Inn certainly lived up to our expectations in this regard.I can?t recommend the Griffin Inn highly enough for anyone looking for a quality dining experience. Thank you to Rebecca and the rest of the team at Griffin Inn for making our lunch stop so memorable. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Yesterday (22nd. November) was our first visit to The Griffin and as soon as we walked in we experienced a warm welcome enhanced by the warmth from the log fire in the bar. We were taken to a table and handed the menus which were more extensive than expected. The service was always with a smile and timely ensuring that the food and plates arrived nice and hot. My ?Lamb?s liver+bacon+mash+veg:? selected from the day?s ?Specials? blackboard was delicious. The two ladies accompanying me had the Pork Escalopes from the main menu and declared them to be really excellent. Afterwards, although a ?macchiato? was not on the list of available coffees, the lady serving us offered to try and make two. The first attempt was not quite right but the second attempt was perfect. Our lunch at the Griffin was a very last minute decision due to the Wye Knot Stop café opposite being closed (despite their website saying otherwise) and as it turned out, we were pleased that they were. It was due to the efforts of those who served us and especially those working in the kitchen that our lunches at The Griffin were so very enjoyable . . . so it?s a ?Hvala? from Croatia.

Went out for my mother?s birthday and found the service extremely poor were the only table in at the time (early evening) and found it as we were being rushed through our food wouldn?t be left alone by the waitress also found her extremely rude. And when we thought it wasn?t going to get any worse when our food arrived it was burnt and over cooked, my mother and grandmother and my little cousin were still eating as they started to take plates away even my cousins plate as he picked up his last bite not even had a chance to chew before the plate was taken, again made us feel like we were being rushed out. The waitress just came across as she just didn?t want to be there, we were not offered dessert we had to go up to the bar to request it, my cousins felt so rushed that they left early before dessert. Me and my family found the whole experience extremely disappointing and will not be returning.
