Fantastic experience at the store. Super helpful gentleman, the owner I believe, greeted me on entry and got to helping me choose a new pair of boots.Clearly very knowledgeable about the products they?re selling, and within a few minutes I was recommended 4 pairs which he brought out for me to try which I was surprised by as I?ve only been able to try one pair at a time in other stores. Stayed with me as I tried them on and I found a pair of Zamberlans that fit me perfectly. Even threw in a tube of Hydrobloc at no extra cost.I didn?t get a good look around but it?s clear the impressive selection is higher end. If you require good quality outdoor gear and trustworthy advice you?ll probably find it here. 100% worth the hours drive, they know how to keep customers.

Needed a new waterproof jacket as my existing one had broken. The shop assistant (owner??) was super helpful and knowledgeable. I wish I lived closer as I would buy all my outbound kit from here.

Surprised by reviews on the staff. Personally I had a great experience. I was looking for walking boots and picked a sale pair. The guy was very helpful and listened to my needs. Measured me up for the boots I'd chosen and explain everything thoroughly and didn't try to upsell even though I was open to paying more if needed.

Quality brands, but staff unfortunately are unfriendly which can be off putting. Felt we were being watched as potential shop lifters, no offers of help ( although I previously worked in the same retail type of goods so that wasn't a problem) .Asked if they did NHS discount..the woman replied smugly that yes to Blue Light Card (which I also have) ha!

Good selection of high end, quality outdoor gear but expect to pay premium prices that these offerings command. There is little here for the mid or low price point buyer. Staff, unfortunately, are not very friendly or welcoming which is a great shame as top prices should really come with top service.
