Tried lots of shops for a rug and couldn't find one. We were recommended to go to Frith's by a Carpet shop in Little Sutton. We went and got exactly the size and colour we wanted. Excellent place. If you can't get the one you want here they don't exist.

Some modern rugs were mixed in with traditional rugs. No discounts available even on very expensive items. Did not find anything to suit this time

Prepare to have your mind blown. From the outside it looks like a slightly dull warehouse, and the entrance through an office-like area almost made me turn around and leave, thinking I'd got the wrong place. But once you're inside.... wow! If you can't find a suitable rug here, you're really not trying hard enough. We went looking for one, and ended up (after a return visit with furniture swatch in hand) buying four. The staff couldn't be friendlier, even when we changed our minds about one rug after they'd gone to the trouble of getting it off the display and putting it on the floor, and the rugs were delivered to us within a week of purchase. Excellent all round.

Frith are selling rugs with exaggerated pile heights, hoping you won't notice. I ordered a custom area rug for almost £1,200 with an advertised pile of 18mm. After installing, I was disappointed it wasn't as soft and luxurious as expected, but it wasn't until measuring that I realized just how much I had been ripped off. Measuring the depth with a cocktail stick, penetrating the base, the overall height was just 12mm: one third shorter than advertised.Frith first tried to convince me I was measuring it incorrectly, then that pile heights vary. There is no notice anywhere that pile height may vary, nor was I informed about such variance prior to sale, nor does pile variance make any sense since the pile would be uneven; it's not: it's consistently one third shorter throughout.Frith offered to receive the rug back for a full refund, less £30 collection costs, on an unspecified day at an unspecified time, under the provision the rug was repackaged in a "similar way" as delivered and in unused condition. This is a grossly disingenuous offer, because they know full well it is impossible for a private individual to put the toothpaste back in the tube, even if the packing materials weren't already discarded, and the rug already had furniture installed on it, thus its condition was clearly "used" anyway.Notwithstanding the refund is an offer I cannot accept, it's also an offer I would refuse because I didn't spend over two months waiting for it, over three hours installing it, with assistance, and accessorizing it with protective underlay and overlay just to be left with nothing. I am willing to accept its flaws provided Frith are willing to compensate the difference between what was ordered and what was delivered. After much back and forth with Andrew Frith of Frith Rugs via email, he asked what compensation I considered reasonable, so I proposed 28% since 28-33% (£300-400) was missing (giving them the benefit of the doubt). Their finance personnel explained I would receive a non-negotiable gesture of goodwill of exactly £100 (less than 10% of the order value). Upon refusal, an angry Andrew tried to gaslight me, stating that even if the pile is far below spec, it's still somehow a quality product, and declared the offer withdrawn, ordering I either return the rug or accept it as is, and any further emails would be ignored. But why is Frith Rugs a scam? At no time did Frith ever ask for evidence the pile was only 12mm long, despite my offers of picture and video evidence. Indeed, they are well aware the pile is oversold. All three customer service agents who dealt with my complaint attempted to gaslight me, either claiming I don't know how to measure pile, pile can vary or the rug is still a high-quality product when one third of it is missing, constantly shifting the goalposts hoping I would concede, and when I did not, it culminated in a juvenile fit thrown by none other than a company director.
