Welcome to Pound-ish Land?
Ah yes, the pound shop ? where everything used to be a pound, until inflation, ambition, and sheer audacity walked in.
I strolled in with a crisp fiver, expecting to walk out with five mildly useful things I didn?t need. Instead, I got one bottle of off-brand shampoo, a pack of suspiciously light batteries, and a sense of betrayal.
?Only £2.49!? one shelf declared proudly, as if it forgot the very name of the establishment it stood in. I half expected to find a ?Luxury Section? with items that cost a tenner and come with judgmental stares.
Look, if I wanted to spend £3.99 on plastic Tupperware that warps in the microwave and hates its own lids, I?d go to a fancy supermarket and pretend to have standards.
Would I go back? Probably. Because I saw a ?£1 Deals? bin near the till and I?m nothing if not a bargain bull. But I?ll be watching you, Pound Shop. One more ?£4.75 Surprise Mug Set? and we?re through.

Called into Blackwood Poundland to do a small shop. Got most items. Served by pleasant staff. Surprised by the items in the store. More food items, kitchenware, clothes, such a lot more choice. ?

My elder sister & I went in here for a few things we both wanted Senercot I said to my sister "to save time I'll get yhe things on my card well sort out later," the member of staff said "sorry I can't let you have 2 packets of senercot" "that's ok" we said "my sister will pay for hers" "no can't do that" she said, my sister said "well I'll go back out & come in & get mine" the member of staff said "no you can't do that as I know you now" what the hell is all that about. We went to the Chemist for my sister to get her packet before going home. Although you can buy 3 packets of Ibuprofen or Paracetamol for a £1POUNDLAND GET A GRIP
