Lovely place

We had a lovely stay at the Dragon Hotel. Room was clean and well stocked with tea/coffee etc. This was an excellent base for exploring the area. Breakfast was lovely and the lady there was very polite and helpful. A perfect stay for us - thank you!

Lovely place. Tidy rooms, comfortable bed, excellent shower. Views are amazing, good breakfast to start the day. Place is just on the outskirts of Bettws y Coed, only a 5 - 10 minute walk from a chippy, couple of pubs convenience stores, craft shops, and cafes.

Good value for the price. River with waterfalls runs on the other side of the road. Rooms are pretty quiet thanks for the double doors and windows. Staff is friendly and helpful (if you can find them:). Their restaurant is closed but breakfast is served every morning.
All in all: recommended.
Rooms: Room was pretty spacious and clean. Mattress is comfortable, pillows are very very flat tho. Tv, mini fridge, kettle, complimentary tea & coffee in rooms. Bathroom accessories, along with towels are provided.
Nearby activities: Waterfall and forest path in the centre of the town : 4 mins walk. Swallow Falls waterfalls: 6 mins drive. Conwy waterfalls: 7 mins drive.
S1 bus (to Pen-y-Pass, leaves from the train station in every hour): 11 minutes walk.
Lots of forest walks nearby.
Walkability: Easy access to town centre, only 4 mins walk.
Lots of restaurants, even more outdoor clothing shops. Found only 2 store (Spar & Londis), both pretty small.
Food and drinks: Cooked breakfast provided, don't forget to leave your breakfast card at reception on the previous day.

Cosy tiny b&b in beautiful are, bit used, aging visible, but I didn't expect much, as my plans was to hike a lot, but if You want spend some more time in hotel, then rather choose something different ?

Interesting to read some of the reviews here. It?s really a case of unrealistic expectations.
aid you?re looking for a hotel with great facilities, comfortable lounges and staff ready to respond to your every need- then this is not for you.
If you want a comfy, clean, bed/bathroom and a good breakfast for the day ahead (in a truly great location) then it?s perfect.
Staff are very friendly and it?s v.reasonable too!

The host was friendly and always happy and location were the only realistic things I liked about my stay at the red dragon. Location in a beautiful village I've visited many many times with a very short walk to pubs and restaurants. Bed was comfortable and large.Messy and dark reception, arriving and host not being aware of my booking. I didn't like the shower as it was extremely weak with little pressure. Bathroom very small, sink taps are placed terribly. Did not sleep well here due to an outside light, had to place blanket over the curtains which helped a little.Breakfast was nice, but basic.. no music and very awkward in a small dining room.Bathroom door did not use properly due to issue with door wood.Rooms very noisy at night, thin walls hearing neighbours and those walking up the metal staircase when they're returning to their room. Most disappointed at the price and getting very little in return. It's more like a motel than a hotel and you're paying for the location ONLY.Host called me once I had returned home asking for the room key, I said I'd left it on reception.. she then responded with no, it's not there. I replied, yes, input it on the reception desk when leaving... She then asked what room I was in and I responded with my room room, number.Host working alone so organisation lacking which was unfortunate.

Nice little place. Basic but what more do you need.
Needs updating but that will affect the prices.. lovely owner she was welcoming and very friendly..
Situated perfectly for walks and a quaint town

Service was excellent, but it needs a lot of upgrading. The Chinese lady was so hospitable and helpful, she needs a medal. So much could be done with this quaint hotel. Disgracefully neglected, paint peeling off the skirting boards, door handle hanging off, plus the smell of dirty fat and a musty smell. Otherwise if upgraded it would make a beautiful place to stay.

Restaurant has closed now. Shame was a decent Chinese. Avoid the hotel rooms. Very poor and dirty.

All 3rd party booking sites show this as having a restaurant, bar and mountain views, it has none of these!! It is dirty and untidy and when we asked for something really simple (toilet roll) the owner went to the room to check we weren't lying!! How it rates 4/5 or 8/10 is a mystery unless the reviews aren't genuine.Rooms: Dirty, dirty, dirtyFood & drinks: No resturant, no bar, breakfast OK but limited vegan/vegetarian optionsNoteworthy details: It's pretty grim, don't stay here unless you absolutely have to!!

It's grim!! No resturant, no bar, no mountain view. Property is dirty and untidy and if you complain to the owner about needing toilet paper they go to the room to check you are not lying! Yes it's in a nice location and the breakfast if OK (although the bacon and egg sandwich without bread was a new experience) but unless you really can't afford anything else don't stay here!!
