Highly recommend going for a ride on the train, for £2.50 per person you can?t go wrong!I was a bit apprehensive as some of the reviews mentioned that some of the models weren?t working, but most were running when I was there so don?t let this put you off.

The little train was very good value, the surrounding areas and village is beautiful. But the museum itself is in need of a clean, and a dust and a lot of updating! It's was only a few pound. But only one model train moved, it needs a really good redesign and updating. Such a shame as everything else in the area is super cute and quaint. This is just too outdated

Saturday during our holiday. We took the kids from Betws-y-Coed (Conwy Valley Railway Museum) to Llandudno. engine signal light on, tried to find assistance through Riverside Garage Conwy. The employee (forgot to ask his name) immediately put down his work to help, and used the diagnostic machine to help confirm the problem. Although the problem cannot be solved immediately (no parts), but helping to confirm that this is a non-urgent problem has been very helpful. Let us continue our journey with peace of mind.Despite not residing in the area, I would highly recommend their services based on this positive experience.

Really cute miniature steam railway for £2.50pp. Great for a grandparent and child to ride together - only 8 mimutes long and smiles gauranteed.But...What is with all the negative signage???

Been here a few times over the past 35 years.Sadly looking a little run down nowadays, most of the layouts in the museum are not working, the miniature railway is still great fun though and well worth the fare.I believe the place is for sale, I think with a little love and lots of paint it could be a great attraction again.

This place is an institution in the area. It?s a place generations have been coming to enjoying as a child and now with their own children. The prices have not really changed over the years and the experience remains the same for kids. Which is a great long train journey on a steam train through a wooded landscape, that?s fun and involves zero iPad or mobile phone. It?s cheap, yes it?s not got every item working but it?s got some real old treasures of model trains and tracks. If it where to be tip top on all areas it would cost a lot lot more. So enjoy it and appreciate its a budget place to go with your family and especially if on a budget.

I?m not really sure what age this place is aimed towardsThe staff are very grumpy towards a very polite 3 year old and not very friendly towards a 9 year old. None of the trains in the museum ran so it wasn?t very interactive as it was advertisedThat said, the train ride was good but if the driver had spoken to my son the way he did before we had gone on the train I wouldn?t of botheredIf the staff learnt some manners and kept the museum in better working order then it would be a good day out but sadly let down

AVOID BEING CAUGHT OUT BY THE SCAM PARKING COMPANY RUNNING ON SITE.. we visited this place earlier this year as a group travelling in two separate cars.. our other group arrived early and waited in the car in the car park until we arrived.. N.B. no occupants of the car park got out of the car.. We got delayed as we got caught up in the roadworks. Soon as we arrived, we paid for our parking and then used all the facilities on site.. few weeks later we received a parking fine for not paying for parking despite us clearly showing proof of parking and explaining the circumstances. They upheld the fine stating the other group had overstayed. will not be going to this place ever again.. we wish the owner of this site reads this message and realises that the parking contractor they have hired is tarnishing their image and future customers..

We had such a lovely time here!We paid for a ride on the mini train, £2.50 per person, which lasted 8 minutes. There was a separate train cart on a straight track for children to "drive" themselves by pushing a lever forwards and backwards so they could go up and down the track. It has two little seats, one behind the other, and cost £1 each time.

Great outdoor mini rail line, the museum however was a different story. We were greeted by a very miserable lady who seemed solely focused on taking money and lacked some basic customer service skills. Half of the exhibits didn?t work which was a shame as our little boy wanted to see all the trains moving.

Giving this five stars more for the childrens train ride more than the museum. The train ride is brilliant and in a town that has disappointingly little for kids to do this was a saviour. The museum is worth a look if you have kids or like model trains but many of the buttons that you press to make the trains work don't work anymore so it's not as interactive as it once would have been.

This is one of my favourite places, as well as the brilliant railway models and museum displays it has a great shop full of railway trains and accessories. It also stocks Wilesco and Mamod steam engines. I have only visited three times and I couldn?t resisting buying a working steam model on each visit. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit if you are in Betws y Coed.

Decent place to stop and kill some time especially if you have young children. Definitely one for a young train ? enthusiast. There is a small train cart that they can self operate down the track for a quid ?. The £2 ride on the mini train is worth it. The ride lasted around 6/8 minutes following the full length of the track.
