We stumbled across this lovely pub by accident and went in for an early evening meal with our eight-year-old son. The service was really good and the range of soft drinks impressive but we have to say the food was amazing. Such a lovely experience. Thank you.

Visited mid week with a family group of ten. Food was very reasonably priced with generous portions. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Cask ales had a choice of three and were well kept. Drinks prices were also very reasonable. Fully recommend.

After reading on the internet that the pub was dog friendly we travelled 10 miles for a meal only to be told the owner couldn't be bothered to alter the information on the net and was not now dog friendly. We went to the Liverpool Arms and had great meal ( so thank you very much ) that's? £50+ you never got ?

Never been before but actually very nice, family of 4, had gammon, huge with big side salad, chips, egg, beautiful, homemade chilli, very nice, prawn sandwich and a mature cheddar sandwich very well presented, good value for money too. Would we return???.? 100% yes

Excellent food - I think it might have been the biggest chicken fillet burger with all the trimmings I have ever had. Hot and tasty. The Baileys rice pudding we elected to have cold was equally as delicious and just the right amount of Baileys. Service with a smile so all in all a lovely lunch on a cold, wet and windy day.

Great pub. Downside was they closed early a few times in the evening so we and the other 10 or so people in had to move on (maybe because it?s out of season) and one evening wasn?t open when website said it would be, food seemed hit and miss as to when it was and wasn?t available and there were items out of stock. Having said that the positives outweigh the negatives - food is delicious, generous portions, (the ham, egg and chips is perfection), it?s always warm, its historic and cosy inside, spotlessly clean, friendly staff who remember your drinks order - all the things that make a great pub.

Food poor. I had the chilli. It looked like it had come straight out of a tin. The meat wasn?t the best quality and had a lot of grizzle in. Not good for the price

Excellent place to visit if you?re near. Make sure to check the specials board, I tried the Lamb steaks and they were absolutely beautiful! Always look forward to visiting this place.

The ambiance is very relaxing Great food worthy of Michelin Star Status. A quality Wine selection Staff very considerate nothing is too much trouble for them. Beaumaris Castle and Jail are well worth a visit. The Pub dates back to medieval times with plenty of history inside the pub please note the candle burns on the Oak Beams plus the original Medieval Fireplace.

Myself and a friend visited the George & Dragon pub whilst staying in Beaumaris last week. As soon as you enter the pub, the character and quirkiness of this late-medieval building are on full display; there is barely a straight line in the place and you have to duck to get to the men's toilets, but the decor is tasteful and pleasant. I had booked a table in advance, and at 7pm the pub was maybe half full (this was a Wednesday so I'd say you probably need to book on a weekend day to ensure space). We were directed to our table, and the nearby specials board was pointed out to us. I think the specials board is a great touch, but when I tried to order one of them, the waitress came back to tell me they had run out, and then removed two other items from the board! In the end I went for the fish and chips. The portion size was good, but it is clear that the food on offer is nothing more than standard pub chain 'pub grub'. The batter was quite thin and soggy, the chips were more of a 'bagged fries' style, and the mushy peas didn't really taste of much. My friend opted for the Rump steak special, and he said it was one of the grisliest steaks he had ever had. In hindsight, it should have been a bit of a red flag that they made us pay for everything at time of order. The saving grace of the experience was the beer; to be fair, the George and Dragon serve a good range of beers and they have been kept well. Overall, I would say that this place is nice if you want to pop in for a drink, but I wouldn't suggest eating here. There are several establishments in Beaumaris a stones throw away where the food is of a much higher quality. Personally I would not return to this pub for food, but the lovely building and the beer on offer means I would possibly return for a drink.
