Be careful if you go in to pay by gift card. I receive a 4% discount through my employer for loading up a gift card so on a regular £150 shop I only pay £144. Not much good when you go to the self checkout and find the machine throwing up a communication error, on calling over the attendant I was basically accused of not having any money on the card, then it was an excuse about the old machines not accepting cards, although it has worked for the last 3 yrs. I also pointed out that the coupon scan wasnt working either.. Pretty much confirming it wasn't my issue. So off he trots to the desk, "it's our system that's down, you can't use the card"... No shit sherlock!!.. So do I get a £6 credit note because you're about to cost me more money because of your equipment failure?.. Do I knickers!!.. About to abandon the £162 shop and go elsewhere when after at least 10 further attempts, the card is accepted.. I didn't even attempt the coupons so I'm still down.
back to Tesco next week
You can do a really cheap shop here because everything you want is not avaliable...

Awful store trolleys are always getting jammed self service scanners are very often out of order always empty gaps on shelves. Its not as cheap as it used to to. In fact last week it came out as the most expensive supermarket. There are always big queues for self service tills. I noticed somebody only responds to reviews when it is positive a very rare occurrence. Sort your store out. I do my main shoppingelsewhere now .

Poor management. I spent 25 minutes today trying to collect my parcel, the system was down but apparently back up & running, but they had nobody responsible for customer collections. A small crowd gathered waiting, lots of Asda employees walking around aimlessly or taking a break, but not one between them providing any customer service to all of us waiting, in any shape or form. Whatever happened to customer service in this shop is beyond me, used to be such a lovely store and it's nosedived. Will be switching my shopping in store and online elsewhere until you get your house in order again.

Shocking, 6 pm on a Tuesday,no tills open, a ridiculously long queue at the self checkouts, most of which are out of order and one poor fella run ragged trying to keep it running?.Morrisons for me from now on

pizza counter is always closed from 5pm for past month, but the gentleman stood behind it is just making up the set pizzas and said to me ?there?s no toppings left? with a whole selection infront of him?? ?????

I've never given a review for a supermarket before, however, after several miserable visits to our local Barry Asda, I have felt compelled to do so!
It used to be a fantastic shop, but since new management have taken over, it's gone downhill fast!
Shelves are not rotated and checked often enough, I've picked up products that are a few days out of their use by date and have taken them to staff on the shop floor! A lot of the produce is very near to its use by or best before date or there is no produce on the shelves!
They are not as competitive price wise as they used to be! It's gone terribly expensive compared to some of the other big supermarkets! It's just pure profiteering sadly ?.
The aisles are always cluttered with staff picking out products for home delivery, which I understand has to be done. However, there is no need for them to stand there talking about their weekend plans to other pickers and totally blocking the aisles!
They have limited tills open at busy times, they prefer you to self scan! But a lot of us older people prefer a till, especially for a big shop!
I hear people complaining about the lack of open tills and the produce all the time!
The staff on the tills are brilliant to be fair, lovely people, but it's the management that needs sorting out!
I regularly shop twice a week at Asda, but have been using another supermarket lately and omg what a difference in both produce and price!
I paid my last visit to Asda today! I won't be going again even though it's more local to me than the other supermarket, I would rather go a few miles out of my way and have a more pleasant and cheaper shop
