The site is clean, and the staff are friendly. Caravans are clean. The chippy had great chips on the two occasions we had them. There is a nice sandy beach too. Our friends paid for a dog in their caravan, but the dog friendly caravan was rather cramped as it was quite small. Would come back again.

Me and my partner had a great time lovely caravan park..club house shop on site and a chippie...even though we didn't think much to chippie...Aidon the life guard is a great young lad very helpful and friendly...thank you...the beach is great and a very short walk from your caravan...all in all its a very nice site and we are off there next year too...Barmouth is a 8 minute drive from the site or there's a shuttle bus...staff are friendly and helpful...great for kids as beach is very close with easy access...our caravan was from a family member so we knew it would be very clean and tidy so I can't comment on the on site caravans..some look old but others look new..my only complaint is some drivers on site drive to fast they should remember there are kids running around...

Absolutley love this place it is so relaxing the gold caravan is clean tidy and well looked after. The club is quiet when all the kids ate back at school which is perfect for us the location is perfect and Barmouth is only 5 mins drive up the road. The views here are stunning especially the sunsets overall a gtlreat place to chill out and relax

We had a great stay. Everything was accessible however we went when the kids were back at school so it was quiet. The facilities are good, but imagine in high season it is impossible to get a drink at the small bar areas, a table, space on the beach or time to swim. The owners have more caravans than match the facilities size. They should stop being greedy and then customers would be happier and leave more favourable reviews. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Well I don't know what all the negative reviews are about?! After reading loads I was dreading turning up here, but I really had nothing to fear. The caravan was modern and clean, the club house was modern and clean. The entertainment was a bit loud granted but sat outside it was perfect. Everybody was friendly ( staff and guests). Don't let all the negative Nancy's put you off!

The park is nice quiet clean caravans are clean and nice. But the laundrette is ridiculous expensive, shop is ok just like other shops on park little expensive but you can live with. Chippy is rubbish the guy that works there is arrogant and has not got a clue what he is serving the food with or what it comes with and the prices are day light rubbery, and two young girls working fir him aged about 15-16 don't have a clue and nit sure is legal too. Is cash only so he must be fiddling his taking to tax man as I work for tax office. NOT RECOMMENDED.

We booked 2 caravans for a week away with the family and my partners parents, upon arrival we were given the keys for our sea view gold caravan, on entering the can it immediately became apparent that it had not been cleaned, the carpets were filthy, cutlery and microwave had food still on them, if this wasn't bad enough, we firstly noticed damage on the wall where the kitchen light switch is fitted, this was a split big enough for our children to put there fingers through it and risk electrocution, infact every room had damage which we pointed out to the maintenance staff, nothing was done, I complained both verbally and via email to the management bit still no one bothered to contact me, I could go on but basically if anyone wants to book a holiday then avoid sunnysands like the plague.

Booked a dog friendly van in august 2022, told at last minute she was in a no pet van, lost her husband who?s dog it was. Mum had the worst holiday ever as that dog is her life and an emotional cutch. Lyons you ruined what should have been a wonderful holiday !

Been using the sister site for years. Coming into sunnysands for entertainment this time I was absolutely disgusted. The entertainment was shocking the toilets was absolutely disgusting. The only good thing of coming here is to see the friendly security guards every year. Coming for years I carnt believe how much these sites have changed heartbreaking really

This was our third family trip to Sunnysands and sad to say that some things have gone downhill since our previous visits. We stayed in a Silver dog friendly caravan, which was actually a lovely van, just lacking in cleanliness. After checking in I spent the first hour cleaning, which was depressing but worth it in the end. The main issues were: -Dirty bed sheets left on the pull out bed -Previous people?s underwear left in drawer -loads of old food crumbs in cutlery tray -lots of spilt salt in cupboards -cups & crocks all put away soaking wet Some general comments about the place: The entertainment left a lot to be desired and wasn?t a patch on previous years. The bingo is on too early at 6.30 and the kids really missed Mr Stix. The singers were far too loud and made any conversation impossible. The disco was boring and there were random kids just cartwheeling around the dance floor. One evening there was karaoke at around 10pm which was just kids wailing down the microphone? dreadful doesn?t even come close!! Drinks are expensive. On-site chip shop wasn?t great and there is no vegetarian option. The Beside the Sea Cafe is nice and the little shop is well stocked. The arcade was ok but the staff seemed to be constantly rushing around in a panic and the machines kept running out of tickets. Swimming pool was nice however it is limited to 45 minute slots which you can book the day before. The on-site bins were overflowing and need emptying more often. Lots of abandoned looking caravans about this year. The beach was lovely and the location is beautiful.

If I could rate this place 0 I would ? On arrival we checked in at reception like you do and pick up your van keys. We had 2 vans one for me and my elderly parents and another for my daughter and son and there partners and kids also my grandkids. We checked in before my son and daughter so carried on to find our van. It took us ages to locate as there was no number on the van and we were getting quite confused as our van should have been next but one to my daughters but the numbers suggested it wasn't. My daughter had now checked in her van even though she was after us and had seen us still looking for our van further up the Road, so she too came walking up to help us try to find it. We eventually decided that this caravan several vans up from my daughters with no number on must be it so, we decided to try the key and unfortunately to our disheartened feelings the key fitted. This particular van i can only imagine must have been the oldest van on the site. It should've been a silver but after being told they had been took over and our caravan was infact a bronze BUT was brand new! so after looking on the site at the brand new bronze caravans we decided that it should be OK. Unfortunately the caravan was not brand new infact it was old, disgusting pokey, dark and dull inside and seating area was filthy. It had a fixed table at the one end with seating in an L shape going round. I was with elderly parents who would've had to struggle to get seated and if the person sat at the end needed to get up everyone in front would've had to have moved to allow them to get out from round the table. My aunty who is suffering with bladder cancer should've joined us but unfortunately due to being in pain decided at last minute not to come, she also can not bend her one leg so there is no way she would of been able to get round this table. Obviously new open plan caravsns with spaciuos living areas which is what we were expecting wouldn't have been a problem. Also because the caravan was so small there was a metre width hall way all the way through with kitchen units built in the sides. No room at all to manoeuvre it was really quite depressing to look at with 2 small windows with netted curtains down (these windows being the main viewing windows from the caravan) at seating area making it very dreary and dull Feeling really emotional for my parents as my father wasn't well and also awaiting results for an illness we nearly didn't go, I decided to go back to reception with the hope they would find us something else. Thankfully my daughters van was brand new with open plan spacious kitchen and living area, so there was somewhere for my dad to sit and rest after a 3 and a half hour journey. Within minutes of walking back into reception we were told by Taryn they were fully booked and nothing could be done apart from, 'Taryns words' " you can have a full refund and go home" at this point I looked at her and pointed out the window up towards where the van was and said but that van is disgusting and surely as a massive holiday park you would have some alternative in these situations. She then greeted me with if you point at me again ( even though i pointed out the window not at her) I am going to have to ask you to leave........ I was just astonished at the lack of customer service skills ? me and my mom decided to go back to my daughters van to sit down and decide what we were going to do. When we got back to my daughters van and said what had happened my dad with head in hand started to tear up because we had so many other life stresses going on at this time and this was supposed to be a few days break. As you can imagine this also made me quite sad seeing my father who was already not well having to deal with this situation. Then my daughter said when I checked in after you they offered me another van on the front Seaview as they wasn't sure her van would be ready, even though Taryn had just told us there was nothing else, so with that information we went back to reception and

Enjoyed our stay this week that we booked last year for around about £745, can't justify paying £1385 for the same van next year (and that's with 30% off). We come here twice a year normally but think it is the end of an era... Also sadly the one day we decided to go to the club for the kids entertainment on the Thursday night, we sat for an hour of bingo waiting for the kids 'mascots' (the bingo over ran due to poor Internet connection) only to be told the mascots were poorly and wouldn't be on, so the kids were welcome to do some drawing and crafts on stage. That was disappointing, I can understand these things happen but would have been good to know maybe when the bingo started so those with children could have made a more informed choice whether to stay. On a more positive note, the chip shop dealt well with an order for 10 people, various orders. Very polite, all food that was ordered was there. I'd recomend it all apart from the burgers, I must admit they were very sad but everything else delicious. Staff at the pool very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the daily sessions albeit only 45 mins, if you come prepared and dressed for swimming it's enough time. Beautiful setting, beautiful beach. There is a plaque for my late partner on the rocks as it was a special place for us, I feel sad I might not see it now for who knows who long, but in this day and age, I cannot afford such a price increase for a week in Wales. Lots of memories and happy times here, sad that it's coming to an end for us.

Just spent a week at Sunnysands and the site desperately needs improvement. First impressions are the site just looks tatty. There are shabby looking caravans and outbuildings, broken slabs, hardcore and concrete everywhere. They did keep it fairly litter free and the communal bins are emptied regularly so no problems with seagulls around the rubbish. The facilities are decent with a chippy that serves up tasty fish and chips but often gets the orders mixed up and is shy with the salt and vinegar, there?s a nice clean and orderly swimming pool that we had plenty use out of with our young grandchildren, a well stocked shop and a decent club with great children?s entertainment day and night. Again we had plenty out of the club because our grandchildren were the perfect age for the entertainment. I would advise that you check your account after any transactions at the club, they double charged me saying they had no signal on the first card machine I used and got a second machine for the same transaction. It wasn?t until a few days later I noticed it and I wondered how many people had been scammed the same way. They very often had signs up saying cash only so we had to go into Barmouth to get some cash out a few times. They could do with a smoking shelter near to the club too because the smokers tend to congregate by the main entrance and it?s not pleasant walking through it all, especially with little kids. The caravan we hired was nice and probably in one of the nicest spots on the site too, but there was some rowdiness from others in nearby caravans that went on until the early hours, personally during kids holiday times I think security should be clamping down on that. I like Barmouth and the surrounding area but I don?t think we would return to sunnysands again unless it improves.

Lyons what have you done to this once fantastic site. In the run up to our family holiday I received a number of calls from the office informing me that my chosen caravan had been changed 3 times due to a number of poor excuses like caravan not yet been delivered, caravan not quite ready etc which was all a pack of lies as you had clearly sold my holiday for a higher price on each occasion. The caravan that I was allocated was situated in the centre of the park which resembled Mcgintys Scrap yard with a constant smell of weed ( how does this go undetected ) Fortunately you did supply me with my own swimming pool as the surrounding area of the caravan was constantly flooded and I was not able to get my car in or out of the site due to the flood this also meant tracking mud in to my van each time you went out for a walk even to the bins .I did complain about this but nothing was done to rectify it. Sadly after 20 happy years of visiting sunnysands that was the last that I will cross over the blue briget As the previous comment has mentioned the card machines were regularly out of use so it was cash only , who carry cash on them these days .
