It would take me a whole day to tell you how bad an experience I have had with this crowd Numerous days off and cancelled last minute I have given them £1600 deposit and still no dentures I was suppose to have extractions and dentures fitted this week and the dentist flies back home knowing he wouldnt be here The most unprofessional outfit I have ever encountered I wish I had gone elsewhere Shocking way to treat patients Even rang head office Lady promised Id have them back but just promise after proise Just totally disappointing

Changing my review from 3 years ago...From being an excellent dentist, My Dentist Bargoed has changed so much, and not for the better. A bungled filling left me with two abscesses that warranted a visit to the Newport emergency dentist (who were exemplary). Apparently My Dentist had failed to do the filling incorrectly, not only leaving a gap to the exposed root, but also gave me the wrong kind of filling which reacted with the metal crown on the tooth below. Getting a mild electric shock each time the two metals met directly caused the resulting abscesses. They made me extract a tooth that would have been better crowned. They refuse to re-crown and re-do a root canal on a tooth with a recurring abscess because they refuse to do any Tier 3 NHS dental work. I was supposed to get a referral for the recurring abscessed tooth, but a year later and I'm yet to hear anything. At this point in time I believe that the care I receive from My Dentist is actually negligent and do not recommend their services to anyone. On a practical note - most of the treatment rooms are upstairs, so please let them know if you can't manage stairs easily. You will be waiting anything up to 30 minutes for your appointment if you're unlucky. Parking isn't nearby though, so you either have to pay at the pay and display near the Bargoed Fish Bar or park for free further away and walk in.As with all dentists, a full private treatment service is available, however My Dentist is not the cheapest in the area.Re: MyDentist response of 22/08/2023.Your inability to respond to reviews isn't my problem. Me leaving an accurate account of my experience of My Dentist services in Bargoed is, especially to the folk who check out Google reviews. No, the issue has never been resolved, thanks for asking. If I could genuinely find a NHS dentist elsewhere I would have already left this practice. What grates is that a friend of mine who lives in a different part of the UK also has a MyDentist and she hasn't had any issues getting NHS tier 3 treatment at her practice. Why is there such a disparity of service? I'm guessing MyDentist is the McDonalds of dentists?

Booked a myoptions initial consultation (partly private so you?d expect a decent service).. this was rescheduled 3 times & changed to an appointment date 3 months later than my initial confirmed appointment (after having waited a number of months already). As I was not consulted about this date & couldn?t make the appointment they?ve kept my deposit & said essentially its my own fault for not turning up (after rescheduling the appointment again & again) - can?t get a response from the practice managers email either, my advice is take your money elsewhere & don?t bother with this surgery

I been there recently and I understand why when making an emergency appointment you have to pay over the phone there and then but why when making an appointment a couple of weeks in advance you have to pay when making the appointment and not on the day of the appointment that makes no sense to me and they advertise they do nhs treatment but NEVER seem to take on any new nhs patients it's ridiculous don't think I'm going to be a patient there for long get my next appointment done out of the way and find something better

The worst run and most unreliable dental practice that I have ever been to, if I could give a ZERO star rating I would. There are only part-time dentists there and last minute appointment cancellations are as reliable as the sun rising and setting each day.Computer systems malfunctioning, staff sickness amongst other reasons for cancelled appointments, where I have lost a day's wages taking a day off work, each appointment seems like a lottery if it is going to take place or not!I had a filling put in which has become swollen & infected and is immensely painful, I have been told that I have to wait 2 - 4 weeks to see one of their dentists!!!AVOID THIS PRACTICE LIKE THE PLAGUE, simply shocking! You've been warned!!

I have had numerous appointments cancelled lately. The last appointment for my children was cancelled without my knowledge. Some of the receptionists are very rude.Last week I was asked to wear a mask in the waiting room by a receptionist and then she continued to serve without hers on.The dentist (when you can get an appointment )has always been very lovely though.

Took our daughter today for a long overdue check up (due to covid) to my smile today, unfortunately she had a tiny cavity and required a small filling. The dentist and her dental nurse were brilliant from start to finish. They took time to explain what was going to happen, showed our daughter how all the instruments work, and done an amazing job on the tooth. Thank you team!

Dont visit this dentist unless you want to waste your time and money. Had an emergency appointment booked for 3pm, so had to finish had a phone call at 2.pm from the receptionist asking if i could make it for 2.40pm, i explained that i was on my way home from work and that i would get there as early as i could, but may not be able to get there for that time. Her reply was no problem see you soon. I arrived at the dentist at 2.47pm to be told that i was late for my appointment!!! I replied im actually 13 mins early they said well we cant see you now you will have to make another appointment tomorrow nothing we can do sorry so not only did i lose half a days pay but wasted my time going there and got to put up with toothache for another night!! This is the second time this has happened to me at this dentist too.My children are at also registered at this dentist but they wont give them an appointment because they are covered by the NHS and are giving priority to paying customers!!! This actually used to be a good caring dental practise but not anymore.
