If you like your supermarket to be like an oversized cornershop, Morrisons Bargoed is the place for you. The shop itself seems to have attracted everyone in the area that cannot drive on one side of the road, cannot park in a space, has a car that's way too big for the narrow streets in the area, self certified disabled people and parents with invisible toddlers. The entrance from the bottom car park shuts at 1800 most days, one side of the bottom car park is never open, and looks to have been designed as a huge waste of space.Great deals on alcohol, but not much else. It is truly a shame I never learnt to survive on alcohol alone.Don't think about grabbing your lunch meal deal before work, unless a case of strongbow is your lunch, as they still haven't stocked up the sandwiches. Very little human interaction left here with maybe one manned till for what seems like half the day, so the human experience is literally when the self service till malfunctions, half of which are closed each morning. The bakery is about the only redeeming feature with some lovely bread, rolls and morning goods, but again, not all available if you go too early.Sometimes a good selection of reduced, dated products from the chiller and bakery at the end of the day, spoiled by the same 10 people hovering in the way, so you don't really get a chance to get much. And finally, the place seems to be a health and safety nightmare. When it rains there are flower buckets everywhere to catch the water, no lights in the pasta aisle, possibly due to water damage judging by the amount of buckets there in the rain, water pouring down the inside of the front windows, full pallets left all over the back aisle when filling stock, along with empty cartons left down aisles. A total amazing shopping experience.

Service was quick. Food was hot. I had fish & chips which I?ve had many times before at Morrisons. The problem was the potion size. It?s advertised as a large fish & chips. Which it used to be. But now it?s more like a fish finger & chips. Bothe the fish & the chips are half the size they once was.

Decided to take my son for his tea at Morrison Bargoed Cafe and was very disappointed, not only at the lack of options but also the staff and cooks response to my intolerances. As I do most of my shopping here and Morrisons have a good "Free From" range I thought eating here would be simple Yes they have a Vegan menu, which is great for someone that is Lactose Intolerant they obviously still use dairy products on this menu Most items were unavailable so decided to go for Egg on Toast. When I asked if they could check if the Bread was Milk Free, it felt like an inconvenience. The member of staff did bring the ingredient book across but kept saying they had bread with no Wheat in and had to keep correcting her that I just need to know about the milk and eventually confirmed there was non in there (well so she thought but will get to that afterwards!) Considering they sell Lactose free butter and milk, they could not offer me any substitutes in the cafe so had dry toast and a black tea!!!!!!! Very frustrating and disappointing Anyway, it would appear that either the Bread used was different from the list in the ingredients book or the cook used utensils or boards that touched Dairy / Milk products cause that night and following morning I was very unwell!!! Its such as shame that a supermarket that promotes itself as selling "Free From" products and with "Natasha's Law" being introduced that this service is not extended to the Cafe and shows a lack of understanding and awareness for its customers
