The manager Greg is clueless and a bully to all staff present. Ruining the establishment is an understatement.

Thank you very much for a wonderful time yesterday. 17 family members came for lunch to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. The food was delicious and the staff were brilliant. We had a great time. Thank you and a Merry Christmas to you all.

Previous reviews being mixed we were a bit unsure but thought we'd chance it.
So glad we did! Lovely friendly staff (,got a bit of Welsh practice in too!) and the food arrived in remarkably quick time.
We both had the cider battered fish and chips and it was gorgeous.
Good choice of local beers and ciders (recommend the Black Dragon!) and a lovely roaring fire to take off the chill of a soggy day!
Definitely will come again.

Booked a table while on holiday. Saw some mixed reviews but we absolutely delighted with the meal, atmosphere, pleasant service. We had fish and chips which was cooked to perfection and really tast. Big thanks to the hotel for the nice welcome and experience, so definitely would ignore any of the bad reviews and book a table if you ate thinking of.coming here. The beer is great as well.
Thank you

The Hafod is such a special place! The location is majestic and the rooms are full of character and comfort. With wonderful, welcoming staff and excellent food, this hotel is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. With Devil's Bridge at the doorstep, it was lovely to be able to wake up early to complete the waterfall hike before it got busy. Stay for the Sunday roast!

Excellent hotel, made better by the staff, excellent holiday location for Devils bridge falls.
Double room was very well located, good standard, brilliant bathroom, very modern. Just need extra hanging options especially for wet clothes ( it is Wales ?). Had everything we needed. Food was above expectations, faultless breakfast, best poached eggs we've ever had, perfect every day. You need a big appetite!!. Very busy even at lunchtime, however, staff reserved tables for residents on Bed, breakfast and evening meals. They met my Gluten free diet every time, could not fault the selection available
Rooms: Well equipped, perhaps more hanging space. Rain shower was amazing
Walkability: Lots of local walks, Devil's bridge waterfall is a 2 minute walk
Food and drinks: Very generous, well made, no faults
Noteworthy details: Although a 20 mph zone, be careful and watch out for large lorries. There is a car park a short walk from the hotel and it's secure. I would only park out the front when loading and unloading

Stopped for lunch to sit in the sun after a walk. The Cwrw Teifi and Welsh beef brisket sandwich were both lovely ?

My chicken stir fry was bland and no real flavours, the chicken was dry as was my wife's chicken in her curry, the rice was crunchy and her chicken was also burnt on the top.
The food is not cheap and I expected more.
The young girl serving apologised and said she would tell the chef. No managers about to deal with the complaint.
ii feel nexperienced staff are being let down by the lack of managerial back up.
Our table which we booked yesterday hadn't been cleaned or set and the whole experience seemed to more mirror a cheap canteen rather than a classy restaurant.
Although later in the evening it seemed to book up its ideas and at least cleaned the tables. Such a shame for such a beautiful setting.
Pull your finger out management this is on you.

We used the Hafod Hotel restaurant today. What a massive disappointment.
When you enter through the hotel entrance it's all very impressive, that's wherein ends. Our table, which we had reserved wasn't cleaned in-between customers leaving crumbs and spills on it. We ordered food, it came, as we were eating the waitress asked us if we had reserved the table? A tad too late?.
My stir-fry was bland and the only flavour was the parsley sprinkled on top. My wife's curry tasted like curry however the chicken was dry and some was actually burnt on the top. The rice was crunchy.
The waitress came to clear our plates, not asking if everything OK I told her anyway. She said she would tell the chef. Who apparently said he was very sorry! When you are paying 17 quid for food it surely should be something you can enjoy ? We thrn ordered an ice cream for my little girl, but after waiting over 10 minutes we decided to call it a day and pay the bill.
The hafod knows that it's the only option in the area and clearly doesn't care about the quality of the food or standards.
Such a shame for a beautiful place.

Stopped for lunch, food looked great, but was disappointing ?
Burger had no sauce, gerkin etc so was a missing something - lovely ingredients but needed sauce.
Puddings! I'm a pudding expert, especially Panna Cotta and creme brulee, so I was pleased to see 3 of these choices on the menu. We shared 2.
Unfortunately the ginger Panna Cotta had the texture of angel delight-no wobble at all and foamy ?
The creme brulee was the worst, it could have been amazing but the amount of sugar used spoiled it.
The crème bit was like eating icing- it tasted of icing sugar and made my teeth hurt, crème brulee needs to be light and a contrast to the bittersweet sugar crust (which was perfect).
Also, the cherry 'compote' was jam-far, far too much sugar, and I left feeling very sick.

We visited only restaurant and it was terrible experience. One star for food is very generous.
Food and drinks: We ordered 4 differed main meals and all of them were awful! Buttered fish - dry inside, served with a spoonful of dry peas instead of mushy peas. Lamb shoulder served as pulled meat not as per menu lamb shank. Potatoes and carrots very soft and tasted like leftovers from Sunday dinner. Awful. Curry overdone with cream and extremely dry chicken and cold pita bread, not mention cold rice and they forgot to serve the extra rice we ordered.
However when questioned this, they "kindly" confirmed we were not charged for extra rice but this is not a point. The most disgusting was chicken stir fry - dry chicken and vegetable soaked in dark soya sauce. Awful my child did not want to eat this at all and I don't blame him because it tasted like cold Worcester Sauce. When I commented on this the waitress replied they always serve this like this and she cannot do anything about this. The whole dinner was the worst dinner we have ever had.
This is not a place you want to spend your money. I regret now I did not complaint. The food is definitely not freshly made and it tasted like reheated leftovers from night before. This was very disappointing experience especially after amazing Devils Bridge walk. And I am very angry with myself I fed my children with this horrible food.
