I just went to Aberbeeg spoons with my 6 month old baby in the pouring down rain as my partner is so inconsiderate and decided that he wants me to pick up a hammer. Today. Right this second or it wouldn?t be available later for pick up (probably lies) as he?s in work until 6pm.Anyways, I get there and the lovely woman is so helpful. She sees me about to get the pram out and she tells me not to bother sorting all the pram and rain covers out as she will bring my item right to my car for me. I gave her my order number and she brought the hammer - that I?ll probably end up whacking my partner with if he sends me out with the baby in this again- straight to my car. I didn?t catch her name but I just want to thank her so much.Lovely customer service from her. Even though she was and probably has been out in this weather all day already. Thank you so much again.

Be warned when paying with PayPal for an item that may show as "in stock" on the website it may in actual fact not be in stock. So you'd expect that you'd get a refund, oh no you have to wait for the item to come into stock for them to then refund your money, so this whole time Screwfix are holding onto my money and earning interest on it while I have to go else where to buy another item. I couldn't even use the money I paid for the out of stock item to buy a more expensive version as I would have had to pay the full value and yep you guessed it, wait untill they moved the item from thier wherehouse to the store before I could get the money refunded. The item in question was a carbon monoxide detector which was to replace a detector that was sounding at home so I needed to find out if I had a faulty detector or Carbon monoxide leaking back into my house. So it was a matter of life or death. I was met with a lack of empathy and no discretion. How a company can expect to accept modern payment methods and then expect to distance it's stores from it's website ( which I had ordered a same day click and collect on ) is mind boggling. A member of staff in the store asked me if I had a screen shot of the page showing it in stock? ( I don't tend to do that as Argos and every other retailer who offers this service seems to be able to do it without fault) Then came the " are you sure it was showing in stock?". " It's IMPOSSIBLE to show stock if we have none". So here we are either I've had a stroke or randomly decided to let my family die, who knows ? But it couldn't possibly be a mistake by Screwfix.If you plan to buy from screwfix don't pay with PayPal because after a lengthy discussion with customer service it became apparent that the billing system they use isn't robust enough to issue credit notes on active orders paid for with PayPal and that prevented me from giving them more money to buy a different detector ( Crazy I know). 10 out of 10 wouldn't shop there again.
