Nice looking bar but a large glass so so Shiraz will cost you £13!! I felt thoroughly shafted!

We had a great dinner here. My steak was excellent. The atmosphere is really nice. Upscale pub feel. Missed the five star mark just barely because the beer was kind of warm - as was the room we were in upstairs. Service was a little slow at the end of our meal. Otherwise top notch. Would certainly eat here again.

Pre-dinner birthday drinks a gin cocktail, pint of Stowford and packet of crisp £21. The Foxhunter Bar is named after the champion show jumping horse 'Foxhunter' who was ridden by jockey Sir Harry Llewellyn. In the bar, you will find several pictures of them both and we have even named our Angel Ale 'Sir Harry' in honour of the pair.
The premier den for Abergavenny locals, you will find regulars and visitors enjoying the bar's old world feel with a modern twist - and a blend of contemporary art.
