The stay we had was a lovely experience. The food we had from their restaurant was amazing. Real home cooked food. There home made tar tar sauce with there fish and chips was one of the best I ever had. I would also recommend there puddings. Breakfast was also cooked fresh. None of this cook it and leave it on a hot plate. You put your order in and it was cooked fresh. We will definitely be returning as there so much to do in the area.

Very warm welcome, from the most hospital staff. Beautiful location, one of the oldest inns in Abergavenny! Short walk from the beautiful castle meadows. Lovely breakfast & bar service. Room was quaint and lovely, great bathroom and shower. Very comfy beds. Great information provided and fast wifi. Lovely stay, thank you!

Can't comment on the rooms as I haven't stayed overnight. But the bar staff are courteous and friendly, and there's no better location on a Friday night for a couple of pints in the sun, get there quick though because the seats fill up pretty quickly. Often playing chilled live music, perfect in the summer sun.

My husband and I had the perfect Valentine's evening at the Kings Arms.
Right from the start the staff were courteous and attentive without being intrusive.
The food was locally sourced and cooked to perfection, and was reasonably priced considering the occasion.
The function room was beautifully decorated and sensitively lit. The evening was rounded off with entertainment from Jim Ramsey.
All in all, a perfect evening!

Had a really fab valentine's day meal last night, the special menu was really good, food was excellent and despite being valentine's day the prices were reasonable. wine was good, staff were excellent and really looked after us. I am gluten free and i was really well looked after. the meal was accompanied by Jim Ramsey who played and sang perfectly for the mood. The room had been valentine's themed. all in all we had a great evening out. thanks

One of the most attentive team of staff at any hotel I've stayed at - a lovely group of people. Nothing was an issue - and all seemed willing to drop anything they were doing to assist.
Room was spacious and had loads of character. Sounds travels a little, but we can expect it to be in a pub/building that age.
Bar area is cosy/chilled. Breakfast was good - can't comment on lunch or dinner.

Booked for Sunday lunch, which was excellent. Very well cooked and presented, lovely pork, and veggies that were way more than just the bit on the side. The staff were really attentive and helpful. I can see why it's a busy, bustling place to visit. The bar looked nice, too.
I really enjoyed coming here.
Food and drinks: HPA and Butty Bach.
Decent lager choices

A female waiter, short dark hair - was the most rude & horrible person today while i asked if my gentleman with dementia could sit on a bench without ordering food, briefly. Will not be coming back. A vast difference at the Trading Post next door who are the best!
Food and drinks: I haven't stayed in a room here but the miserable attitude of a staff member while i was trying to settle my gent who has dementia in a seat there - was just awful. Won't return.

Amazing place and square, quaint pub and great friendly Welsh service.
We couldn?t get any food as fully booked and happened to be there only because our bus to Brecon didn?t show up, but a blessing in disguise as we wouldn?t have experienced the place. The music played outside was just perfect soundtrack for us. Guitar player was so good and played amazing soft rock classics ending with Pink Floyd and ELO. And the location is just what you want for people watching.
