I often visit the Costa in Abergavenny but my experience yesterday was awful, usually there is a lady behind the counter and all is good, she keeps everything moving quickly. Yesterday the young staff were so slow, never seen such a queue, they were talking and were not very helpful at all. Usually I pay by card but yesterday paid cash and was given most of my 95p change in 5ps. If the assistant had told me before handing me the 5ps I would have paid by card, she didn't even apologise for the 5ps and having no other change, I offered then to pay be card but she refused. I suffer from rhuematism/osteoarthritis in my hands and find it very difficult to handle small change but she wasn't bothered when I explained. After watching other customers handing over change before leaving I asked her if she could change my 5ps but she said no. When going to the toilet I saw the lady (who I think is the manager) who is very good, if she hadn't have been busy working on her laptop I would have mentioned this to her. Previous times the service has been good, but very poor yesterday.

The staff at this Costa is probably the worst there is. They were literally chatting with each other for 10.mins in front of me who was waiting to be served.
When they finally came to me, the girl had so much attitude like I was in the wrong disrupting their conversation. She can never remember my order either, every time I have gone she either misses something or completely messes up my order. I'm not even gonna mention it takes her an eternity to prepare the coffee.
They need a whole new staff!!! And please get rid of the old lady who is apparently thr manager, she is horrific!!!

Awful service not enough staff only 2 serving and 1 hadn't got a clue. I saw at least 4 leave without getting served.

On Sunday it took 4 members if staff 15 minutes to make 2 drinks.... So we Left and went to Neros!

Have no complaints about the drink received, however, the atmosphere was horrific due to an older woman barista, speaking to her staff in a rude and unkind manner. I won?t be returning!

What an absolutely amazing store! It's always clean and tidy. Karen, the manager is always welcoming and friendly and always goes above and beyond. We are always provided with great customer service when visiting.

Dreadful. I asked for a brownie, but was charged for a brownie yet I got no brownie. Now that's not the only problem. As I watched her make a latte she wiped the machine with her hand. Very unhygienic. Now her attitude was also appalling, 3 hours untill the shop closed, the cafe was very busy yet she was closing it down and stopping customers from entering the lower half of the building. Normally a lovely women so I'm sure she just had a bad day.

I'm going to do my best to say something positive in this review as we've been to this Costa before and had a warm, helpful welcome. Saying that, today during our visit where the place was empty and two people ahead of us, we waited quite a long time to get served and when we did get served, the young lady could have been friendly. She asked if we wanted chocolate on our cappuccinos and I said, ?yes please!? She gave a light dusting and used the stencil, which meant you really didn't get much, so I said for the second one, she didn't need to use the symbol. She told me she had to with a bit of a bite to her words. All the other Costas that we've been to have been happy to oblige and we even have a laugh about it as I say I don't want to waist the chocolate. I hope that life gets better here as we used to enjoy coming here. In the meantime there are plenty of other coffee houses around. Bye for now.

This costa has always been a prime visit when me and my friend go to abergavenny, alwyas excited for our salted caramel frappe with skimmed milk, extra caramel, the team at costa are always inviting and just make you feel welcome and happy to be there, it?s an amazing place to study/revise with the free wifi there so it?s aswelll an amazing stop for my and my friend to come revise A levels, probably has to be my favourite coffee shop anywhere in the world!!

Great location right in the middle of the main shopping area. Coffee was great as per usual, staff cheerful and attentive, but they could have done with having an extra member of staff on to lighten the load. The queue was quite long and the ladies were doing a sterling job. If you are in a rush, I would go elsewhere !
