We have ordered from the Codfather quite a few times in the past and have always been impressed with the food. We cannot say the same this time unfortunately. We had 4 fish (prices have increased massively) 3 were meant to be large and 1 small. The photo attached is the small and large fish side by side. As you can see, you can't tell the difference between them. We were quite appalled at this when there's nearly a £6 difference between them.
The chip portions were the same and considering there is no option for a small chips, only a large they were the size of a small. A large used to feed more than 2 people. Today it barely served 2 people and so we had to feed 5 with a rather undersized portion of chips.
The delivery was early and the food was nice, but the portions were nothing compared to what they were and for the prices it just doesn't seem worth it. Don't think we'll be ordering again unfortunately.

This is a great place and I would highly recommend it- we were told we could get food at a local pubbut we were told it was a hour half wait so we rang these and they delivered
Dispute the driver getting lost and them been extremely busy they made share they found us and got us our tea and it was amazing- they go above and beyond to give excellent service and amazing food really made our camping trip and in stars thank you very much especially to the driver

Visited Abergavenny for a wonder and called in for some food i had the dirty chips with chicken and my wife had the cod pieces, both great vfm and very tasty , staff friendly too. Seemed very popular in the time we were there as eat in.

Came to Abergavenny for a wander and something to eat, couldn?t decide on where to dine as we walked through the town, my wife didn?t want us to pay some of the prices of the lovely looking restaurants as we passed. So fish and chips it was and what a treat it was! Beautiful batter, perfect chips and super efficient service. Only 3 stars for atmosphere, which is a little unfair, they aren?t seeking to provide that experience. This was an every bit as good as award winning fish and chips we had recently in Anstruther Scotland. Thanks, we will be back!

My mum and I had a fabulous lunch today , my mum is coeliac and the fabulous young man made her gluten free haddock and chips , as you can see she is really enjoying it !!! ?

Severely disappointed for the second time. Chips were hard and had an odd taste to them. Battered sausage also wasn?t great, but wasn?t awful, was very pale in colour and tasted undercooked. Won?t be coming back.

Me and the kids went y'day and were greeted by 2 lovely big smiles (from the man in charge and a young lady), and were given the biggest portion of cheesy chips carefully layered for maximum taste! Great customer service and great food. Thank you. We were impressed! ?
