Everytime I go to this branch to purchase something, the staff are all working in the pharmacy section and completely ignore me, even though there is no-one waiting for a prescription. They don't even look up and say, 'We'll be with you shortly', they just carry on, sometimes for more than 5 minutes. Last time I sent my husband in as I couldn't stand the thought of it happening again, I thought maybe it was me. I didn't mention my experiences to him. When he came back, he was fuming! He said he stood there for ages and nobody even acknowledged him, they just carried on with prescriptions even though nobody was even waiting for one. I understand staff are busy but please, just acknowledge a customer is there instead of ignoring them - it's basic manners. I honestly only go there now if I have no choice.

Very poor customer service, I felt staff were very unprofessional and held a personal agenda against me.

The staff here are some of the kindest, most accommodating and understanding workers I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have been using the pharmacy for many years here and they have always been incredibly friendly and willing to help however they can even when they are very busy, they always remain very professional and thoughtful. As a disabled person I am so grateful to have their support and kindness and I cannot recommend them and praise them enough.

Visited store on a Friday at 12:30 on. I wasn?t acknowledged until 12:45. They said I couldn?t have my prescription until after lunch. I couldn?t go back that day so went back on the Saturday at 14:30. Prescription not processed. Had to go back a 3rd time on that day to be told not all my tablets in stock. I have to go 2 days without my medication because they didn?t process my prescription the day I brought it in. Absolutely shocking and the fact that the staff sometimes ignore that you?re standing right there.

I have had no end of trouble with this branch of Boots. I have had to complain formally no less than 4 times in the last year and twice in the last two days as I have been trying to get through to the pharmacy who never pick up!!! Not even their head office/ customer care line could get though to them even on the managerial line! I was needing to find out where my 87 and half year old, housebound mothers' medication was, as she is running out, which is something this branch has let her do no less than 5 times(documented) in the last year. We are signed up for repeats and delivery and text msgs, we have received only 3 txt msgs in the last year and two of them were to tell my mother her medications were ready for collection!!!
They have provided the wrong medicine for her, when I went to exchange it(something that has happened a few times!) which was pre-arranged and left for me to collect, I was made to wait over and hour, even 25 minutes passed closing time (a few other poor customers were waiting too) for the pharmacist to eventually appear!!! During that episode of waiting I was subjected to listening to the three remaining staff members discussing their drunken party nights out and hangovers, as though myself and the other poor waiting customers were not even there!
I am not someone who complains lightly, but now after over a year of this absolutely terrible terrible service I have quite frankly had enough, and the only reason I am still with this terrible branch is that they are the only ones in the local area for delivery that can source one of my mother's named medications!
To not answer their phone leaves people distressed and panicked, my poor mother who is housebound cannot go into the shop! People like me who work full time, cannot just drop everything and pop in the shop to help ourselves or the people we care for!!
For the record here, I spent 2 hours and 30minutes ringing back to back yesterday morning from opening with no answer, I subsequently called through the day on and off, still no answer, and finally today I have tried all day throughout and no answer. There are now two formal complaints in with Boots headoffice, and as of tomorrow my mother will have no medications left and Headoffice tell me to call them back tomorrow(day three!!!) and they will escalate it then as Boots will have left my mother with no medication, which is absolutely dreadful too! To wait until someone runs out of medication before escalation??!! I am presuming as a pharmacy that they do realize that some medications cannot be allowed to run out for a patient??
Boots use to be a reliable, trustworthy company, how times have changed, I would leave zero stars if I could!!
Over a year of the most terrible, inept, littered with mistakes and inconsistent service which leaves you with such little faith or trust in them, I think I have ever received! How I wish I could go elsewhere for my mother! really!!! At 87 years old she doesn't need this stress or messing around with her medications!!
Do better Boots Aberdare!! Seriously!!!

We live in an age where people seem all too eager to complain when things go wrong, but are less eager to pass a compliment. I do however, have a compliment regarding the store in Aberdare, S. Wales.A couple of days before Christmas I was in a predicament, trying to get a prescription processed for my 9 y/o Grandson who lives with Autism, Complex ADHD and Enuresis. I made it to the Aberdare store as they locked the doors and turned the lights out. TOO LATE, or so I thought. The pharmacist; Sally, spoke to me and I asked her if she knew of any pharmacy that could fulfill the prescription for my Grandson. She was utterly amazing, as she explained that I would have to wait outside while she checks stock. A few minutes later she fulfilled 1/2 of the prescription and asked me to pop back the following afternoon for the remainder. I never expected this but I was so thankful. Sally and the team took customer care to a whole new level. Shall we call it the "Gold Standard"?The following day I returned for the remainder, but the supplier had failed to deliver. Not a problem as a Scottish lady called Jen (or Jan) moved mountains to ensure that it could be fulfilled. She called a number of different branches and found supplies in Pontypridd branch which is only a quick 20 minute drive away. Again, I was in awe of this level of customer care.

An excellent service. The staff are very polite they go out of their way to fulfill your prescription making sure your happy and also offer delivery to you door on a day of your choosing. A far better service than any Shepherds pharmacy.

Popped in earlier to pick up a script, staff were super lovely and chatting amongst themselves and customers as they were doing things which is always lovely to see and makes for a really pleasant atmosphere , was served quickly and checked on by staff to make sure I'd been served definitely recommend!

Absolute joke of a shop. Opens and closes when it wants. Wasted several trips to collect a parcel that was late arriving into and is continuously closed the week leading up to Christmas. Don?t waste your time going here be quicker to go elsewhere. 1 star is being generous
