These are the best mussels l have tasted ,l,m 74 today and have eaten many in my time .On the way home we tried to name better , could not come up with an answer, so the y seler has got it right .

Booked Y Seler as a special treat as we were staying in the area and had heard some really great things about this place. We'd been here before for some drinks on the upper terrace overlooking the harbour, which was lovely in the sunshine, albeit the harbour is undergoing some extensive refurbishment at the moment! It will be lovely when the work is complete. The restaurant and piano bar are located on the lower floor with a fantastic chilled area to sit with drinks to peruse the menu before being seated. Staff were super friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure our evening was special. We had a great table overlooking the outside terrace. We both decided to go for the moules marinière to start, and I have to say that this was the nicest version of this dish I've ever tried anywhere in the world! I'm amazed to make such a claim, but credit where credit's due! Lamb rump and pork belly were the dishes of choice for main course, which were both beautifully cooked and packed full of flavour. Soft and tender meat that just melted in the mouth. Having sought advice from our lovely server, we chose to add a seasonal vegetable side to accompany the lamb dish as it was a smaller sized dish, and this ended up being a good call. We chose to share a cherry bakewell sundae to complete the meal, which was a lovely treat. I'm struggling to find anything negative to say about Y Seler to be fair. I guess getting a reservation can take some time, especially during peak season. Prices are not cheap, but this is a quality establishment producing some fine dining in a superb setting. You really do get what you pay for. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning soon. Diolch yn fawr am noswaith hyfryd.
As a follow on from my previous review, we recently decided a stay at the hotel was in order for a special occasion. We already had high expectations following a couple of visits. Check-in was a breeze as we'd already been able to complete the process online by following a link in a reminder email. We were lucky enough to have a deluxe room overlooking the river and harbour inlet at the rear of the property. The room was appointed to a very high standard and even boasted electric blinds! A large sumptuous bed with soft comfortable pillows meant a very relaxing stay. There was a large TV boasting Sky, coffee machine and all the usual extras you might expect from a superior room. The en-suite was luxurious with a wonderful rainfall shower. The standard of the accommodation side of the hotel matches the high standard of the restaurant and bar areas which was great to finally see first hand. Our evening meal downstairs was another triumph but as I've already covered the dining options previously, I'll just add some photos which should speak for themselves. We simply can't wait to return to this great little gem of a place.

We was staying just down the road , \nA very wet rainy day so popped in for dinner , \nI ordered the pie and mash , omg it was one of 5he best I?d had in years

Service was extremely poor, we were a group of 8 - they got most of our orders wrong and staff had quite an unprofessional attitude. What we did have was decent quality food but didn?t really represent the price tag.
They didn?t even say goodbye as we left the restaurant, they were all too busy chatting behind the bar. They could have at least been professional after we spent more than £300 +10% tip.
All in all we just found the experience disappointing.

Absolutely beautiful meal, I had the vegan cauliflower soup which for such a humble dish was simply delicious, really well presented and just a superb dish!! My wife had the fish cake, kids had the burger, all loved their meals and cleared their plates! Highly recommended

Booked in October to ensure a table but was surprised to be asked for full payment at time of booking. A £50 per head deposit would have been more than enough to avoid no shows. \nOn arrival into crammed bar 45 minutes ahead of food service we had nowhere to sit and had to hunt down our complimentary glass of fizz!\nFood - a six course tasting menu - was mediocre to say the least and definitely not worth the price paid. The nicest food was the bread at the start and the ravioli, the fish course was served cold and tough and made me ill. The meat course was poor with tough steak and unpleasant tasting beef cheek. The two dessert courses and homemade sweets were nice enough. The overall quantity of food was fairly stingy and quality below par.\nDisappointing entertainment and atmosphere leading up to midnight, very poorly organised. Live music was a (albeit talented) saxophonist playing to a hardly audible tape. Music stopped altogether before midnight so everyone was just standing around with zero atmosphere. At midnight a girl with a nice voice sang Auld Lang Syne at the piano but too little too late - and the complimentary ?fizz? served at midnight was flat and sour tasting!\nSadly cannot recommend this place for a fun time with good food which was what we had hoped for in return for substantial price tag - wish we?d stayed home and spent our £300 more wisely.\nHopefully someone will take these comments into consideration and provide a better experience next year - but not for us!

Excellent menu always something different. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Vegetarian or Vegan. Staff are lovely.

Didn't stay or actually go inside due to canine company but sat outside overlooking the harbour. Service was fantastic, with pleasant, informed and polite staff. They even came outside and dried the chairs and tables. Lunchtime food was amazing and the beer even better. Very impressed. Will obviously return... soon!

This is the third time we?ve been to Y Seler and each time the rooms, food, service and general ambiance has been great. We love it there and are coming back next year for our wedding anniversary. The rooms are very stylish with a lovely shower. The food is lovely - we had 2 x sunday lunches and both of them were delicious. The portions were generous and tasty. The breakfasts are fantastic vfm - granola with yoghurt and a full Welsh breakfast included in the room price - fantastic.

We had a delightful dinner here, fantastic staff and wonderful location. Make sure to ask for the vegan menu if you're vegan as it has some things on there not on the main menu - we had a delicious salted caramel and chocolate tart that we would have otherwise missed!

All I can say is when in Aberaeron this is the first place to visit. The coffee here is absolutely divine and the food is absolutely 5*. The staff are all amazing and will do whatever they can to make sure you have the best welcome ever. It has a homely vibe about the place and it?s always busy which is wonderful to see. Thanks guys.
