Scope. A charity for disabled people?
I had a really disappointing experience at Scope Shop in Whitley Bay. The female staff member was incredibly rude and unhelpful. During my son's autism meltdown, her attitude only made things worse. To make things even more upsetting, we were accused of not returning a large toy castle, about the size of a small child, to its proper place? insinuating we stole it! despite the fact that it was in the middle of a meltdown and there was chaos around. This was an unfair and embarrassing situation, and I won't be returning to this store. Very disappointed with the customer service and how the situation was handled.
Your staff seriously need some training.

We visited the Scope charity shop with my autistic brother, who had a meltdown when we explained a large toy castle was too big to carry. My mum returned it to the same general area. I bought some books and we left calmly.
A few minutes later, a woman from the shop came outside and accused us of stealing the castle ? in front of my autistic brother ? even though it was clearly not with us. When my mum explained where she?d put it, the woman responded sarcastically about it being in the wrong spot.
This is *Scope*, a charity that claims to support disabled people, yet we were met with zero understanding or empathy. The unnecessary accusation triggered another meltdown and completely ruined our visit. Incredibly disappointing.

Which lunatic asylum did the staff escape from? The price went from £5 to £15 for an old handbag.!! So I told the old bag to stuff it.!! Do yourself a favour love and get a life.!!

A nice shop with a good range of items in it. i love the jewellery section and there is a tombola on sometimes when you go in. The second hand books are good and they do have a good range of names brand clothes for good prices. They sell a range of their own items here as well

A good sized charity shop selling a large range of second hand and new items as well as very reasonably priced cards and wrapping paper. The shop sells clothes, DVDs, CDs, books and even things for around the house, all at very reasonable prices, especially so as you are doing your bit for such a good cause.
