We had our close family & friends wedding reception here on the 5/10/24 & gotta say, the buffet that was put on, was amazing & delicious. More than enough for food for everyone. Hope the people at the bar enjoyed it haha thank you for the wonderful service & awesome time. This was our 1st date venue when we met & it was fitting to have our wedding reception here, before we moved on

We visit for the weekly quiz (great entertainment). Occasionally we have food which is such good value. Katie is so welcoming and helpful. We always have a great time when we call in.

Large welcoming pub, pleasant and attentive staff, the menu is plentiful and the service quite quick. If you go to see the birthplace of George Washington's family, take a quick walk through the cemetery right next to it and you're there. Good stopover before hitting the road again (no worries about timetables)
Parking: small dead end road
Kid-friendliness: there were many children and a great atmosphere when we arrived, the land at the back obviously serves as a playground.
Wheelchair accessibility: level rooms, more complicated for the rest of the village (very steep)

We love visiting this place, always a great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff.
We have just called in this weekend as weather nice and wanted to sit outside. The back area though is not clean and swept, the whole area needs updating and some ?TLC?!!
The front sadly isn?t much better, needs a good hosing down, sweep ? and new tables and chairs. Currently one bench is signed that it?s unusable and the other one wobbles, feels unsafe and has striped tape attached. Probably that?s the ?unsafe one? and someone changed the sign.
All very sad and neglected ??
Please take note, please clean up and replace, this pub is a gem and it feels like it?s going down hill?

Popped in today with my wife for a couple of drinks. The ambience and friendliness is second to none. A special mention for Liz behind the bar. She is so friendly and great at her job. She really goes the extra mile to enhance the customer's experience.

Amazing cosy country pub. MTV on the tv?s with other music in the background. The food was amazing and very filling. As per usual, the wife decided my food was better than hers but that?s the married gig isn?t it! All was reasonably priced and food was served in good time. All in all, would definitely go back.
