This venue is sited in a convenient place for all kinds of activities. The hotel was full whilst we were there mainly with families on summer holidays. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Being adjacent to a Toby Inn was convenient for evening meals but very popular and busy.

Stayed here overnight after a football match in Sunderland. We always choose Premier Inns but this one is the best we?ve stayed in. Friendly staff in reception and swift check in -really important after a long journey from Ipswich. Breakfast was fab, everything cooked to order so lovely and hot. Toaster was a bit slow but everything else was great so no complaints. All the staff we met were helpful, friendly and even put the Lionesses game on the telly in the morning. Great stay and I?d highly recommend.

Very friendly staff. The older lady is super chatty which is so canny, makes you feel welcome . The younger ones are really lovely too, very efficient and quick with their work. Wether its For parcels or shopping, always a pleasure to go there.

Only stayed for 1 night with 2 more couples as we were touring but had a great stay, usual Premier standards but with a little bit extra. Ideal location for visiting Beamish and all other attractions in the north east. There is a Toby inn on site but didn't eat there at night as it was closing early but behind the Hotel over the Road was a Pub that did excellent meals at a reasonable price. Unfortunately we had our Breakfast in the Toby inn which was OK and cheaper than Premier but after seeing and hearing about the Premier Brekky wish we had had it there. All the staff that we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful, Would definitely stay again.

Usual Premier Inn standard, comfortable and clean, well situated for visiting sites in the area, Newcastle, Durham, Beamish etc. Only issue we had was first night, where a couple were shouting in corridor in early hours and banging doors. There is a Toby Carvery on site and a sports bar few minutes walk away, not much else within walking distance. In all an enjoyable stay.

For four years now, since my step dad Roly passed away, my family and I have visited Sunderland and this hotel, as part of an annual visit to lay flowers on his grave. Every year the staff have treated us more like family than paying customers and have gone above and beyond in an effort to ensure we have the best care possible. On the Thursday, the day before we were due to arrive, we were notified that due to flooding we had been relocated to the Durham North venue, but as we travelled up from our home near Cambridge the next day, we were advised that the issue had been resolved and the original booking was in place. When we arrived we were given a complimentary breakfast voucher (my Mam got three), as a way of apology for any inconvenience that may have been caused. For the three nights we were there the team were warm, friendly and always smiling whenever a request was put to them. They were patient and accommodated my Mam's mobility scooter, both in the foyer and the restaurant during breakfasts and any other requests or queries we had, as if we were their very own David on reception and Jack who manages the restaurant, along with Sharon all remembered us from previous visits and their wonderful welcome was heart warming. Each and everyone of them, along with Les the chef and the rest of the team are an absolute credit to themselves and to Premier Inn. Their pride in how they do their jobs is plain for all to see. If the bigwigs in the upper echelons of Premier Inn management want to see HOSPITALITY AT IT'S ABSOLUTE BEST then they need to visit this hotel. I can't praise all the staff highly enough and hope to see them all again next year. Many thanks, Tom.

We thought the wonderful welcome we got from the receptionist was likely to be a one off experience specific to that individual. We were however thankfully proven wrong when it came to breakfast and the team who hosted it. Each and every one of them was simply amazing. From the cheery welcome to the breakfast room, to the taking of our order. Right through to a team member telling me to sit down whilst he got my bread toasted for me as the toaster was taking a little long to toast. And then we come to the actual breakfast. I've had a few Premier Inn breakfasts in my time but this was without a doubt the very best one yet! The quality of the produce was of course good but for us, it was the fact that the food was cooked to order and cooked fantastically well that really impressed us. And then the chef even came out at one point to check we were happy with our food and to ask if we wanted more! This was the first time I'd been so far up north and I can now truly understand why northerners are so well loved. This was northern hospitality at it's very best! I've been in fancier hotels but wouldn't hesitate to check-in to the Washington Premier Inn again - specifically for the people and the amazing breakfast!

Premier Inns never disappointed. I had to book at the last minute and I booked online without problem. The receptionist was very welcoming and quickly gave us a room. The room was perhaps the most expensive we have paid for and it had the smallest bathroom we have ever had with a shower, wash basin and loo. Having said that the cleanliness was perfect with the usual comfy bed. Premier Inn are my preferred hotel.

I can't praise the staff highly enough, the receptionist with glasses (I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name) was so sweet and thank you for helping me get my snack out of the vending machine. Lez at the breakfast was so sweet and the perfect example of customer care. First experience in Newcastle, would return purely based on how friendly the people were at the hotel I stayed at whilst passing through were. Also thank you Chris the chef, fantastic breakfast that saw me through my journey.

Absolutely brilliant staff. Sharon, Jack and Les really looked after us. The beds were comfy like usual and the food was cooked on order, so it was nice and hot and fresh. We have stayed here many times and the staff have always been friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Very high standards of cleanliness

Superb!! Really clean & comfortable ; friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast at the Toby opposite is cheaper but the Premier inn one is a million times better ? loads more choice & cooked to order. The poached eggs were first class!! Would definitely recommend!
