Washington Galleries is a pretty good shopping centre and Washington itself is also a pretty good and underrated town, with loads of amazing 70s architecture in the New Town and the stunning old Washington Village and Old Hall (where George Washington?s ancestors lived and grew up)

Dolton Park, plenty free parking toilets only on the upper floors. That could be tricky for the disabled. From the last time I visited the indoor marked has gone. The development of that block looks good. Fresh and new shame you can?t put a loo down stairs.

Always a busy place, which can't be bad, shame M&S was closed in Sunderland. They had a good food shop before the Sunderland branch was closed.

Size wise The Galleries is not massive, if wo/men hate shopping this is a better place to go than The Metro centre.
All on one floor apart from a few banks and bs which I skip. Nearby there is area which includes few high street brands shops: M&S, River Island, Next, Range etc cafe within store and upstairs.
All parking is good and not too far from shops with wheelchair access. Or bus station next to centre.
I like the market, inshops and found that this has gone replaced with Gym and sports shop. Yes it does look clean and smarter. However, it's just the same as any shopping centre, AND WHY have a Gym? Those shops are lost now, times change. I for one will miss those shops.
Overall you can walk around 15/30 minutes, shopping centre designed in a square shop.
