I just wanted to buy a couple of games and get out, but was left standing there for 15 minutes while the staff fumbled over one person selling stuff. Not a word to me the whole time ? completely ignored.
I genuinely thought I?d never get served, so I put the games back and walked out. It was rude, slow, and badly managed. If someone?s selling, they should wait to the side ? don?t leave paying customers hanging like that.

Was sold a faulty Steamdeck by Cex. Went to return, was told I would have to wait 45 minutes for ?testing?, and after explaining to them when the fault appeared, the staff told his colleague and said ?apparently? as if he did not believe me. I then returned to get my refund (consumer act 2010 applies for online orders), I was told there was no apparent fault as if I was a liar!! Ended up ordering brand new on Steam where I bought a brand new one cheaper than your prices for used ones. Pathetic won?t be buying again, completely unprofessional staff.

Don't normally leave reviews, However. I've been collecting games/cosoles etc for the past few months and I went to buy a star wars xbox 360 console boxed. I've been to many CeX branches and it made me realise how polite and amazing the staff on Washington are. No other branch I've been to compares.

I am a gay black man, when I visited this shop, a woman with red hair and piercings was outright racist to me and stereotyped me as a thief. She followed me around and watched everything I touched. She was not even hiding it. Eventually, after around 5 minutes, I was asked to leave the store as she believed I was "upto no good" in her words. Absolutely shocking behaviour in 2024!

Slow unresponsive staff, not like any of the other branches. Perhaps just my experience but they had maybe 5 staff, only one doing something. And me just waiting... like an idiot!

I didn't catch the lad's name but I walked in with a copy of MGS2 (which had suffered a light grazing from the laser's metal shroud in the PS2) and he immediately knew what I needed.
He couldn't guarantee that the disc could be restored but regardless, he gave it a try and he was fair throughout.
The surface-level scratch was removed and the disc looks good as new.

Rude, arrogant and obnoxious staff, items sold that aren't properly tested, arguments over refunds and consumer law, unacceptable wait to be served and issues sorted. Will never step foot in that branch again. Let the buyer beware.

Purchased 2 things from Cex and feel utterly ripped off. First thing was a Kindle which, upon communicating with the people at Amazon, should not have been sold as the generation that I purchased doesn't actually connect to Amazon accounts anymore so they're pretty much useless.
Took it back to this branch and bought a tablet instead, only to get it home and find out it takes 6 and a half hours to charge and it lost battery life very quickly too. I took it back to the store to which they 'tested' the tablet and said the battery was fine, which made me look like a liar. I asked for a refund as I wasn't happy with the tablet in the slightest only to be told it was past the 48 hour period and that there was no faults with it so they couldn't give me a refund, and if I were to get a refund, it would be a voucher which is useless to me.
Furthermore, I got in touch with 'higher up' only to be told that I should have done my research into the model of the tablet before buying it. The most patronising response and shocking customer service. Maybe staff, who are clearly the experts, should be advising customers who may not be as technologically minded, that certain products may not run to the best of their ability prior to the customer handing over their money.
Making customers feel like they're to blame and that they're lying is disgraceful. I will say that one of the members of staff made sure to understand my frustrations and sympathised with me. He gave me another charging wire to try at home which I was very grateful for. He went out of his way to find a solution for me without making me feel stupid.
