I feel a bit bad saying l wouldn?t recommend, however this is based purely on the fact that this is more of an adoption centre geared towards the rehoming of these beautiful animals and should be advertised as such to avoid misleading customers who are paying £5 for a 30 minute time slot to essentially sit in a very basic room, where there are cat litter trays in the same area people are eating and drinking in. No food hygiene rating on display either, apologies if there is one as l know it?s not a legal requirement to have it on show to customers.
Staff were sitting talking amongst themselves and not really engaging with customers, the atmosphere felt very awkward as soon as you walked in and altogether there was just a very weird vibe, not fun or happy which is what you?d expect from a team of people who are inviting customers into their ?cafe? to see the cats they?ve rescued.
cats are very sweet and l hope they find their forever homes, but l wouldn?t visit unless you?re seriously considering adopting one of their cats.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit this morning.
Have long admired the work done by the cafe & rescue & it?s plain to see the cats are very happy & extremely well cared for. The girls are so knowledgeable about the cats in their care (& cats generally), & we had lots of fun playing, watching & interacting with the wonderful pussycats - observing all their different personalities.
Would highly recommend a visit (& the coffee was really good too!).

I would trust this place with my heart, I had to recently make the hardest decision to surrender my two girls and I had the best outcome I could have had with Tamsin. She fostered them and they were snapped up quickly, she sent me video's and photos and kept me updated the whole way, she was honestly just lovely in a very bad time for myself.

Wonderful people running a wonderful charity. We have loved going to see our kittens and are very thankful for the kindness and consideration shown towards patrons and the cats.

My sister and I loved visiting this very special place, it feels much more in line with our moral values and love for cats, it's a quiet gentle space that's filled with love by those who run it and I will definitely be going back to show my support ???

The cats in here are lovely. However, the staff came across very rude. We brought my brother who is autistic. He was constantly told off by staff telling him ? they aren?t dogs you know?. He was being rather energetic as he was excited. The staff were constantly telling him to move away from the cats and to put the toys down. In the end we had left as one of the staff members had told him to move away. Even though other children were playing with the cats. I understand the cats may have been overwhelmed but the place isn?t big enough for the amount of cats they have and the staff could have been more accommodating and understanding of his needs which they were not.Aswell as the manner in which they spoke to him was unacceptable. Given as they offer quieter sessions on a Saturday to accommodate this we would have expected more understanding and kinder staff.

My husband and I adopted our cat, Bella, from the Bad Cat Cafe and Rescue. She is a beautiful, healthy, happy girl full of personality, and the entire adoption process was wonderful. Bella had a rougher start to life, previously living in a crowded shelter, and at the Bad Cat Cafe & Rescue they realised quickly that Bella wasn?t the type to thrive in the cafe environment, so she was looked after elsewhere before she came home to us. The team at the Cafe worked with us to be able to visit Bella beforehand, in an accessible space for us. They made sure we were right for her too! They did a home visit to make sure that our space would be safe and secure for Bella, and have given us support and check in even after she came home. It?s so clear and so evident that the team care deeply for all of the cats in their care. I can?t thank them enough for all they do for all the cats who come through their doors, but especially for bringing Bella into our lives.

We were lucky enough to adopt two gorgeous cats from here last year and the cafe was nothing but amazing with us throughout the whole process.
From the moment you enter the cafe, it's obvious that the cats come first and that the cafe is really just a way for the cats to meet their forever families in a safe, gentle environment.
Tasmin and Roxy spent a long time talking to us, vetting us and making sure we were a good fit for the cats. They gave advice on how to introduce them to our existing cat and are still on hand now to answer questions, like photos and keep up with how the cats are getting on. I know if anything ever did go wrong they would be first in line to help.
They also spayed, vaccinated, paid for dental work and put the work into loving and socialising the cats before looking for a home for them.
All in all, it was a much nicer process than adopting from a rescue shelter where animals are kept in cages and the focus is on ticking boxes.
If it wasn't for the Bad Cat Cafe, our two furbabies would either still be in an overcrowded shelter or worse...
Tasmin and Roxy were there for Draco and Dolores when none of the big organisations cared and for that we will be forever grateful ??

I adopted my cat through the café and they were so helpful and lovely. I?m a first time cat owner and they were so informative and answered all of my questions. There?s no doubt that they really care for all the cats they in their care and have their best interests at heart :)
They have every cats individual needs in mind. My cat was given her own quiet space.
It?s been almost a year since I adopted her and they still care about how she?s doing.

We adopted two cats through the bad cat cafe. We have been in the cafe multiple times and the cats are so happy and loved. We know that our two cats were loved so much by the bad cat cafe and we?ve had continued support from Tamsin after adopting. They really care about the cafe cats and previous cafe cats. I would definitely recommend coming to see these cats and possibly adopting them. Tamsin and Roxy do an amazing job ??

I needed to rehome my cat urgently and Tasmin was so selfless and helpful, lining up a potential owner and making sure Melvin's transition was as smooth as possible. Thank you so much for all your help.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Bad Cat Café & Rescue in Wallsend, and it was an unforgettable experience. This charming café offers a serene atmosphere where patrons can enjoy a delightful cup of tea or coffee while interacting with the resident rescue cats. The café serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and treats, all at reasonable prices. ?
During my visit, I had the joy of meeting several of their adorable feline residents: Bright Eyes, Ciri, Cloud, Coco, Luna, Minnie, Nala, and Pecan. Each cat has its own unique personality, and it?s heartwarming to know that all of them are rescues looking for their forever homes. The café partners with rescues across Europe, taking in strays who have had some of the toughest starts in life. ?
The staff, led by owners Tamsin and Roxy, are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. They?ve created a family-friendly environment, with walls adorned with cat-themed artwork contributed by young visitors. Children are encouraged to add their own masterpieces to the display, making it a truly interactive experience. ?
For those considering adoption, the café provides a unique opportunity to spend quality time with the cats in a relaxed setting, ensuring a perfect match. Additionally, they offer cat-sitting services in the local area, demonstrating their commitment to feline welfare. ?
Whether you?re looking to adopt or simply enjoy the company of some delightful cats, The Bad Cat Café & Rescue is a must-visit. I can?t wait for my next visit!
