Increasingly my favourite place to go in Tynemouth. Good value, great people, and it's not pretending to be anything it's not. And it serves breakfasts until 3pm so you can have a proper filler and a pint for well under £15, not bad at all!

Popped in for a drink and something to eat. Settled on the breakfast. While it was ok I did receive a snotty egg and would much prefer menu to state if it's fresh or tinned tomatoes. If tinned tomatoes then the toast should arrive on a separate plate as it gets soaked from the tomato juice.
The atmosphere was quite dull. The place is very dusty. Couldn't believe how dusty it was. Mainly up a height around all the bulbs and shades and the big canopy around the door. Cleaner obviously needs a feather duster.

A quiet Wednesday lunch. We waited 45 min for mains for 4 before I asked where the food was. Came out a few minutes later with an apology and a free round of drinks. The chilli was sent back as it was cold. Dumpling was almost inedible and the mince average. 2 nice meals , 2 below par. Apologising for the wait was a theme that I heard repeated twice more that day.

Nice food, was a quiet Saturday afternoon so wasn't busy. Drumstick cocktails are lush.

We had lunch there on Bank Holiday Monday. The staff were not great. The food wait time was really long and when it arrived it was luke warm. Not be be recommended.
When ordering drinks from the bar, the staff really couldn?t be bothered, not listening to the order, missing out drinks and asking for money before we?d finished ordering. It was not super busy but the food took forever to arrive. After reminding them, it was clear there had clearly been a mix up so it took another ten minutes making the wait time to over 40 minutes. When the food arrived it was luke warm and there were no condiments and there was one large saxa table salt which all diners had to share! The owners need to sort their staff and system out.

We visited The Priory on Saturday and unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. After placing our order we were informed they were out of fish, fair enough, so changed order. Found out later they had a delivery just as we were ordering but no one informed the front of house staff, and then no one offered to change our order.
Unfortunately I can't review the food we did order as it never arrived. 45 minutes after order (1 pizza, 1 sandwich w/chips and 1 scampi w/chips), no food had arrived. Went to ask the staff what was happening, had to wait several minutes for someone to come over. Was told food was being plated and it would be 5 minutes. 10 minutes later still no food, so went up to ask for a refund. The only reason I've given 1 star for Service is because the Supervisor was very apologetic and friendly, offered a full refund. Several other tables had also refunded and others will still waiting as we left.
Can't comment on the quality of the food so only scored on Service & Atmosphere.

We visited the priory with our boy in his stroller ?.
It was initially a warm day but got cold rather quickly ?.
We had a few beverages here, the barman makes the best mai tai's we have ever tried ? and they're reasonably priced!
We went inside for a few whilst we warmed up, very friendly atmosphere and although on this occasion we didn't have dinner here.
The meals we did see that people were ordering looked good, so we are looking forward to our return for more mai tai's ? and of course to try the food.
Thank you for your marvellous hospitality ? ...
Kindest regards

Very disappointed today. We waited for an hour for our food the order was wrong and the food wasn't that great to be honest. I thought the bar staff wernt taking it seriously and messing around a lot even flirting with eachother instead of doing their jobs

We wandered up and down Front Street, Tynemouth, on a miserably cold day. We looked in the door and the place looked warm and welcoming.
There were a few other customers, but at 5:30 on a cold Thursday evening it was welcoming to see other diners.
The menu was small but as it was titled 'Winter Warmers' it was what we wanted to see.
The staff were very friendly and our order was soon taken. Our food arrived in a reasonable time. We were not disappointed. I had dumplings, mince, chips and peas. The better half had scampi and chips. Portion sizes were pleasing. The cost was similar to other eateries we had looked at prior to choosing 'The Priory'.
All in all it was a teatime success.

Ordered a chicken burger, a bbq chicken pizza and 2 teas. £28. Made 2 teapots of tea at the bar. Both teapots were absolutely filthy, fished them out from the bottom of the bar, 2 spoons were also filthy, the tea was Luke warm. I took them back for a replacement, still no better. The waiter keeps apologising all the time (sorry). The chicken burger was a battered clump of chicken in a bun with salad. Salad was dry. Had to ask for mayonnaise, my wife never ate it. My pizza looked good, but the chicken was hard lumps and the base was like slate.. I only ate a bit as I was hungry. The waiter did not do anything or offer anything else, we just put our coats on and left. The whole pub needs a clean out and the crockery and utensils need replacement or a damp good wash. The staff had no go in them at all. Very poor service, waited just under an hour for food to come out. People were complaining about cold cups of tea. The staff was completely lost. I would never go there again or recommend it to anyone. If I hadn't paid prior to getting my meal, I would never of paid. For £28 the service and meals were shocking
